Հետաքրքիրն այն է, որ այս փուլերը կախված չեն մարդու տարիքից։ Հոգեվերլուծաբան Կառլ Յունգը գտնում էր, որ այս փուլերը կախված են անհատի առանձնահատկություններից, ինչպես նաև այն ուղուց, որը կանխորոշված է նրա համար։
Աթլետի փուլ
Կյանքի այս փուլը առավել եսասիրական և «մանկական» է կյանքի մնացած բոլոր փուլերից և նրա հիմնական նշաններից են հաճախ էգոիզմն ու նարցիսիզմը։ Այս փուլում գտնվող մարդիկ մեծ կարևորություն են տալիս իրենց արտաքինին և կազմվածքին։ Նրանց թվում է, թե իրենք են տիեզերքի կենտրոնը։ Նրանք կույր են ուրիշների դժվարությունների ու կյանքի փորձությունների հանդեպ։ Զարմանալին այն է, որ չնայած արտահայտված նարցիսիզմին, նրանք նաև ինքնաքննադատ են և ցածր ինքնագնահատական ունեն։
Մարտիկի փուլ
Աթլետի փուլն ավարտելուց հետո մարդիկ հաճախ անցնում են ռազմիկի փուլին։ Սա ավելի հասուն և պատասխանատու փուլ է, քանի որ դրա ընթացքում մարդիկ պատասխանատվություն են սովորում իրենց քայլերի համար և գիտակցում են սեփական պատասխանատվությունը մտերիմների (և ոչ միայն մտերիմների) հանդեպ։ Այս փուլին հատուկ է նաև ամբիցիաները և ինքնադրսևորվելու ցանկությունը։ Այն իզուր չի կոչվում մարտիկի փուլ, քանի որ դրա ընթացքում մենք սովորում ենք պայքարել այն ամենի համար, ինչը թանկ է մեզ համար և հասնել մեր նպատակներին։
Հայտարարողական փուլ
Սա այն փուլն է, որի ընթացքում մենք իրոք մեծանում ենք։ Այս փուլի ընթացքում մենք շատ փոփոխությունների ենք ենթարկվում։ Կյանքի հենց այս փուլում ենք մենք երեխաներ ունենում, այսինքն պատասխանատու ենք նոր կյանքի համար։ Այս փուլը կատարյալ ժամանակաշրջան է հին նվաճումներին հետին հայացք գցելու և գիտակցելու, թե ինչպես են դրանք ազդել ոչ միայն ձեր կյանքի, այլև բոլոր նրանց վրա, ում նկատմամբ դուք անտարբեր չեք։
Հոգևոր փուլ
Եվ այսպես, մենք անցնում ենք կյանքի վերջին փուլին, որը կոչվում է հոգևոր։ Սա այն փուլն է, որի ժամանակ մենք սկսում ենք գիտակցել, որ տիեզերքը միայն նյութականով չի սահմանափակվում։ Եվ չնայած փողը, անձնական հարաբերությունները և աշխարհի գեղեցկությունը անկասկած, ունեն նշանակություն, այս փուլի ժամանակ մեր հոգևորը մեզ համար ամենից առավել է դառնում։ Կյանքի այս փուլում մենք սկսում ենք առավել ուժգին զգալ տիեզերքի հետ կապը։ Այս փուլում մենք սկսում ենք մարդկանց ջերմություն ու բարություն պարգևել, առանց որևէ ակնկալիքի։
