Դեպքի օրը Կուտոյանը ինչ-որ հանդիպում է ունեցել. նրան վերջերս հետ էին կանչել արտերկրում ուսումից
SOCIETYՔիչ առաջ իր բնակարանում հայտնաբերվել է ԱԱԾ նախկին տնօրեն Գեորգի Կուտոյանի դին՝ հրազենային վիրավորումով: Մենք արդեն հայտնել ենք, որ մեր տեղեկություններով վերջինս ինքնասպան է եղել։
Ծնվել է 1981 թվականի սեպտեմբերի 30-ին, Երևանում։ Ամուսնացած է, ունի մեկ որդի։ 1997-2002 թթ. սովորել և գերազանցությամբ ավարտել է Ռոստովի պետական համալսարանի իրավագիտության ֆակուլտետը։ Իրավաբանական գիտությունների թեկնածու է։ 2007 թ. ավարտել է Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգների Թաֆթս համալսարանի Ֆլետչերի իրավունքի և դիվանագիտության դպրոցը: 2002-2010 թթ. զբաղվել է գիտամանկավարժական գործունեությամբ։ 2010-2011 թթ. - զբաղվել է փաստաբանական գործունեությամբ։ 2011 թ. ՀՀ Նախագահի կարգադրությամբ նշանակվել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Նախագահի օգնական։
2016 թ. փետրվարի 3-ին ՀՀ Նախագահի հրամանագրով նշանակվել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության գլխավոր դատախազի տեղակալ, իսկ 2016 թ. փետրվարի 12-ին ՀՀ Նախագահի հրամանագրով նշանակվել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության կառավարությանն առընթեր ազգային անվտանգության ծառայության տնօրեն և պաշտոնավարել է այդ կարգավիճակով մինչև 2018 թ. մայիսի 10-ը, այսինքն մինչև հայտնի իրադարձությունները, որոնք բերեցին Հայաստանում իշխանափոխության։ Գեորգի Կուտոյանը համարվում էր նախկին իշխանության լավագույն արհեստավարժ կադրերից մեկը, նախագահի օգնականի կարգավիճակում համակարգում էր ուժային կառույցների աշխատանքը, իրավապահ համակարգի ծանր հրետանին էր, Սերժ Սարգսյանի ամենավստահելիներից մեկը, նրա աչքն ու ականջը։
ArmDaily.am-ի տեղեկություններով, հեղափոխությունից հետո Կուտոյանը մեկնել էր Մեծ Բրիտանիա՝ Քեմբրիջի համալսարան, մագիստրոսական կրթություն ստանալու նպատակով։ Սակայն վերջերս նրան հետ են կանչել Հայաստան` ինչ որ խնդիրներից ելնելով։ Թե ով և ինչ նպատակով էր Կուտոյանին Հայաստան վերադառնալու պահանջ ներկայացրել, դեռևս ճշտվում է։ Մեզ հայտնի է դարձել նաև, որ դեպքից առաջ Կուտոյանը որոշ հանդիպումներ է ունեցել, որից հետո վերադարձել է տուն և ինքնասպանություն գործել։
