«Ֆրիդրիխ Էբերտ» հիմնադրամում կազմակերպված քննարկման մասնակիցներից «Հայնրիխ Բյոլլ» հիմնադրամի Հարավային Կովկասի ներկայացուցչի հարցը վերաբերում էր բնապահպանությանը։ «Բնապահպանական հարցերը բյուրեղացել են Ամուլսարի ոսկու հանքի պարագայում, ես կցանկանայի ձեզանից լսել Ամուլսարի ճգնաժամի մասին։ Ինչպիսի՞ ելք եք դուք տեսնում։ Կարծում եմ, դա մեծ մարտահրավեր է», հիմնադրամի ներկայացուցչի հարցին ի պատասխան ՀՀ վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն ասել է, որ Հայաստանում բոլորն ունեն մտահոգություններ այդ հանքի շահագործման բնապահպանական ռիսկերի վերաբերյալ:

 

«Ես անձամբ, որպես ՀՀ վարչապետ, հավասարապես շահագրգիռ եմ եւ հավասարապես շահագրգիռ չեմ, որ այդ հանքը շահագործվի։ Պարզաբանեմ. շահագրգիռ եմ, եթե պարզվի, որ այդ հանքի շահագործումը Հայաստանին անվերականգնելի բնապահպանական վնասներ չի պատճառի, շահագրգիռ չեմ, եթե պարզվի, որ այդ հանքի շահագործումը Հայաստանում բնապահպանական աղետների կհանգեցնի։ Ոչ միայն շահագրգիռ չեմ, այլեւ նման պարագայում ուղղակի չեմ կարող թույլ տալ այդ հանքի շահագործումը։

 

Այլ բան, որ մենք որոշակի իրավիճակների պատճառով, հանրային անվստահության պատճառով, չենք կարողանում առաջ շարժվել այդ հարցերի պատասխանը ստանալու առումով։ Եթե պարզվի բնապահպանական ռիսկերը կառավարելի են, ես կպաշտպանեմ այդ նախագիծը, եթե պարզվի կառավարելի չեն, ես չեմ պաշտպանի այդ նախագիծը», ասել է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը։
