Արարատի մարզում, փետրվարի 13-ին, խոշոր ու շղթայական ավտովթար է տեղի ունեցել. ժամը 21;20-ի սահմաններում Երեւան-Երասխ ավտոճանապարհի 28 կմ հատվածում բախվել են Արարատ քաղաքի բնակիչ՝ 46-ամյա Վազգեն Ս.-ի վարած ՎԱԶ 21101 մակնիշի 34 VP 548 համարանիշի, Արտաշատ քաղաքի բնակիչ՝ 31-ամյա Ռազմիկ Ա.-ի վարած Opel Astra մակնիշշի 30 ԼՍ 145 համարանիշի, Վայոց Ձորի մարզի բնակիչ՝ 30-ամյա Վարդան Ա.-ի վարած Opel Astra մակնիշի 35 ՏZ 431 համարանիշի, Արարատի մարզի բնակիչ՝ 43-ամյա Արման Ք.-ի վարած Ford Transit մակնիշի 36 ՏC 968 համարանիշի, Արարատի մարզի բնակիչ՝ 41-ամյա Գնել Վ.-ի վարած Opel Astra մակնիշի 35 ZA 186 համարանիշի, Երեւանի բնակիչ՝ 20-ամյա Քնարիկ Կ.-ի վարած Toyota Alteza մակնիշի 36 QZ 493 համարանիշի, Արարատ քաղաքի բնակիչ՝ 32-ամյա Արթուր Ա.-ի վարած Nissan Tiida մակնիշի 35 NC 580 համարանիշի, Արարատի մարզի բնակիչ՝ 36-ամյա Էդգար Դ.-ի վարած BMW մակնիշի 36 QՏ 826 համարանիշի, Արարատի մարզի բնակիչ՝ 24-ամյա Հովիկ Մ.-ի վարած ԳԱԶ 3110 մակնիշի 36 GN 028 համարանիշի, ՎԱԶ 2101 մակնիշի 25 ԼՕ 071 համարանիշի (վարորդի տվյալները ճշտվում են), BMW մակնիշի 34 AՍ 502 համարանիշի (վարորդի տվյալները ճշտվում են), Mercedes մակնիշի 36 OR 360 համարանիշի (վարորդի տվյալները ճշտվում են) ավտոմեքենաները։

Shamshyan.com-ի   հաղորդմամբ, վթարի հետեւանքով վարորդներից Ռ. Աբրահամյանը, Վ. Ալավերդյանի ուղեւոր՝ Արարատի մարզի բնակիչ, 24-ամյա Մելինե Զեյնալյանը, Վ. Սարգսյանի ուղեւորներ՝ Արարատի մարզի բնակիչներ, 56-ամյա Վարդիթեր Ռուստամյանը եւ 78-ամյա Հնազանդ Անրեասյանը մարմնական վնասվածքներով տեղափոխվել են Արտաշատի բժշկական կենտրոն։

Դեպքի վայրում հավաքված վարորդներն ու ուղեւորներն ասում էին, որ վթարի պատճառը եղել է մերկասառույցը:

Մի քանի ավտոմեքենաներ էլ էին բախվել, սակայն, չսպասելով ԱՊՊԱ-ին ու ճանապարհային ոստիկանների ժամանմանը, վարորդները «իրար հետ լեզու գտան» ու իրենց մեքենաները քարշակներով տեղափոխեցին։
