ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման հորդորել է թոթափել Ռուսաստանի եւ Թուրքիայի հարաբերություններում ստեղծված լարվածությունը: Սպիտակ տան աշխատակազմում նրա գլխավոր արտաքին քաղաքական խորհրդական Բեն Ռոդսն այդ մասին հայտնել է մամուլի ասուլիսում, որն անցկացվել է Փարիզում եւ հեռարձակվել Վաշինգտոնում:
Բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյան մեկնաբանել է ավելի վաղ Փարիզում Ռուսաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահների միջեւ կայացած երկկողմ հանդիպումը: Նրա խոսքով՝ թուրք-սիրիական սահմանում ռուսական ինքնաթիռի խոցման միջադեպի կապակցությամբ Օբաման «ցավակցություն է հայտնել ռուսաստանցիների զոհվելու կապակցությամբ», ինչպես նաեւ վստահություն է հայտնել, որ Ռուսաստանին եւ Թուրքիային անհրաժեշտ է «ապահովել ապաէսկալացում եւ խուսափել այնպիսի քայլերից, որոնք հղի են իրադրության սրման վտանգով»:
«Նախագահ Պուտինի հետ հանդիպմանը շեշտը դրվել է քաղաքական այն գործընթացի վրա, որը զարգանում է Վիեննայում,- ասել է Ռոդսը:- Մեր նախագահը վերստին խորը համոզմունք է հայտնել, որ մեզ բոլորիս հարկավոր է աշխատել միասին: ԱՄՆ-ը, Ռուսաստանը, Թուրքիան, մեր արաբ ընկերները եւ գործընկերները, եվրոպական մեր դաշնակիցները, Իրանը պետք է նստեն ընդհանուր սեղանի շուրջ եւ ձգտեն հասնել քաղաքական լուծման, որը կարող է վերջ դնել քաղաքացիական պատերազմին Սիրիայում»:
«Մենք շարունակում ենք պնդել, որ քաղաքական անցման շրանակներում Բաշար Ասադը պետք է հեռանա իշխանությունից»,- ընդգծել է Ռոդսը: Նրա խոսքով՝ երկու երկրների նախագահներն իրենց արտաքին քաղաքական գերատեսչությունների ղեկավարների առջեւ խնդիր են դրել շարունակել աշխատանքը եւ առաջընթացի հասնել Վիեննայի գործընթացի շրջանակներում, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
