«Մայիսի 6-ին Լոս Անջելեսում սրտի դառը կսկիծով տեղեկացանք Հայ ժողովրդի պանծալի զավակ Երջանիկ Աբգարյանի մահվան գուժը: Պարոն Աբգարյանը մահացել է Երեվանում մայիսի 6-ի գիշերը, լույս մայիսի 7-ին:

Ովքեր, որ առիթը չեն ունեցել ճանաչել Պարոն Աբգարյանին կամ տեղյակ չեն Պարոն Աբգարյանի անցյալին, Երջանիկ Աբգարյանը եղել է Հայոց Զինված Ուժերի և բանակաշինության հիմնադիրներից մեկը, եթե ոչ առաջինը, ապա առաջիններից մեկը, ով կանխատեսելով մոտալուտ պատերազմը Ադրբեջանի Հանրապետության և Սովետական Միության հակահայկական կեցվածքը Արցախյան հարցում, սկսեց պահել Հայ երիտասարդներին, ինչքան որ հնարավոր է եղել, 18 տարեկանը լրացած զորակոչիկ Հայ երիտասարդներին պահել է Հայաստանում և այդ տղաները իրենց զինծառայությունն անցկացրել են Հայաստանում:

Նախապատերազմական և պատերազմական ժամանակաշրջանում Պարոն Աբգարյանը միշտ գտնվել է Հայ-թուրքական շփման գծի ամենաթեժ կետերում` Հայաստանի թրքաբնակ գյուղերում, Նախիջեվանի սահմանում, Արցախում, Գետաշենում, Մարտունաշենում, Շահումյանի Շրջանում...

Երջանիկ Աբգարյանը ծնվել է 1940 թվականի փետրվարի 8-ին Ավետիս Աբգարյանի ընտանիքում, Արգել գյուղում (Կոտայքի Մարզ):

1958-1963 թվականներին որպես փականագործ աշխատել է Երևանի կաբելային և սարքաշինության գործարաններում,
1964-1968 թվականներին սովորել է Երեվանի Պետական Համալսարանի Արեվելագիտության բաժնում,
1968-1970 թվականներին ծառայել է Սովետական Բանակում որպես թարգմանիչ,
1970-1990 թվականներին աշխատել է ՀԽՍՀ ԳԱ Արեվելագիտության Ինստիտուտում,
1988 թվականին անդամագրվել է այդ տարվա մայիսին ստեղծված Արցախյան շարժման Հայաստանի կոմիտե (Ղարաբաղ Կոմիտե) կազմակերպությանը:

1990-1995 թվականներին եղել է ՀԽՍՀ Գերագույն խորհրդի և Սովետական Միության փլուզումից հետո ՀՀ ԱԺ պատգամավոր,
1998 թվականից ապրել է իր համեստ կյանքով որպես ՀՀ քաղաքացի:

Երջանիկ Աբգարյանը տղտլ է Հայոց համազգային շարժում կուսակցության անդամ:

Որպես Ղարաբաղ Կոմիտեի անդամ, Երջանիկ Աբգարյանը իր կյանքը չի խնայել Հայ ժողովրդի պայքարի` Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը (Արցախը) Հայաստանի հետ վերամիավորելու համար:
