Ռուսաստանի վարչապետ Դմիտրի Մեդվեդեւն ամուսնացել է  1993 թվականին։ Նրա կինը Սվետլաննա Լիննիկն է։ Նրանք միասին սովորել են նույն դպրոցում։

Սվետլանա Մեդվեդեւան Դմիտրի Մեդվեդեւին պարգեւել է իրենց որդուն՝ Իլյային։

Սվետլանա Մեդվեդեւան ծնվել է 1965 թ. Լենինգրադում, զինվորականի ընտանիքում։ Ավարտել է Լենինգրադի ֆինանսա-տնտեսական ինստիտուտը, մասնագիտությամբ հաշվապահ է։

Մեդվեդեւի հետ ամուսնացել են 1989 թ, իսկ 1995-ին ծնվել է նրանց որդին։

Մեդվեդեւան 2007 թվականից ղեկավարում է «Ռուսաստանի մատաղ սերնդի բարոյահեգաբանական մշակույթի» հոբաբարձունների խորհուրդը: Իսկ 2008 թվականից սկսած հանդիսանում է սոցիալ-մշակութային նախագծերի հիմնադրամի ղեկավարը։

Մեդվեդեւան զբաղվում է մի շարք բարեգործական նախագծերով։

Նա հանդիսանում է Վալենտին Յուդաշկինի զգեստների երկրպագուն։

Մեդվեդեւի որդին, ինչպես եւ մյուս քաղաքական գործիչների զավակները, հանրությանը քիչ է երեւում։

12 տարեկանում նա նկարահանվել է «Եռալաշ»-ի երկու սերիաներում։  Այդ ընթացքում իր հարցազրույցներից մեկում երեխան խոստովանել էր, որ հազվադեպ է հորը տեսնում, իսկ ֆուտբոլ ստիպված է լինում խաղալ թիկնապահների հետ։

Իլյա Մեդվեդեւը, ինչպես եւ իր հայրը, սիրում է ֆուտբոլ, ընթերցանություն, համակարգչային խաղեր։ Նա նախընտրում է լսել Linkin Park, Beatles, “Сплин” եւ “Машина времени” խմբերի երաժշտությունը.

Իլյա Մեդվեդեւը տիրապետում է իտալերենի, ֆրանսերենի եւ անգլերենի։
