«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է․ «Հայաստանի կրթական համակարգում շարունակում է անմխիթար վիճակ տիրել: Այս պահին «անտեր» են մնացել թվով 6 բարձրագույն ուսումնական հաստատություններ: Նրանք բոլորը չունեն ռեկտորներ, իսկ մի քանիսն էլ՝ անգամ հոգաբարձուների խորհուրդ: Այդ առումով ամենաանմխիթար իրավիճակում Երեւանի պետական համալսարանն է, որը երկար ժամանակ է՝ չի կարողանում խնդիրը կարգավորել եւ շարունակում է ղեկավարվել ռեկտորի պաշտոնակատարի կողմից՝ չունենալով նաեւ գիտական խորհուրդ:

Երեւանի պետական համալսարանի ռեկտորի պաշտոնակատարն արդեն երկար ժամանակ է՝ շարունակում է մնալ Գեղամ Գեւորգյանը, ընդ որում՝ մարտի 23-ին պետք է տեղի ունենար մայր բուհի նոր ռեկտորի ընտրություն, որն այդպես էլ չկայացավ՝ պայմանավորված երկրում արտակարգ դրությամբ:

Ռեկտորի պաշտոնակատարներով են շարունակում իրենց գործունեությունը նաեւ Հայաստանի ֆիզիկական կուլտուրայի եւ սպորտի պետական ինստիտուտը (պաշտոնակատար Դավիթ Խիթարյան), Շիրակի Մ. Նալբանդյանի անվան պետական համալսարանը (ռեկտորի ԺՊ Երվանդ Սերոբյան): Նույն իրավիճակն է նաեւ Ճարտարապետության եւ շինարարության Հայաստանի ազգային համալսարանում, որտեղ արդեն մեկ տարի է՝ ռեկտորի պաշտոնակատար է Եղիազար Վարդանյանը:

Ռեկտոր չունեցող մյուս երկու բուհերն են Պոլիտեխնիկական համալսարանն ու Տնտեսագիտական համալսարանը: Վերջինիս ռեկտորի պաշտոնակատար Դիանա Գալոյանի շուրջ աղմուկը չի դադարում»:
