INTERNATIONAL NEWSԵրեքշաբթի օրը ԱՄՆ զինված ուժերը հայտնել են, որ հետաքննում են իրաքցի զինյալների հայտարարությունն Իրաքի եւ Քուվեյթի սահմանին գտնվող ամերիկյան ռազմական տեխնիկայի ուղեկցորդ պահակախմբի մոտ տեղի ունեցած պայթյունի վերաբերյալ:
Վերջերս ձեւավորված «Աշաբ ալ-Քաֆ» խմբավորումը հայտարարություն էր տարածել, որում պնդում է, որ այն Իրաքի Բասրա քաղաքից հարավ գտնվող սահմանին պայթյունի հետեւանքով «ամերիկացի թշնամուն պատկանող սարքավորումներ եւ տրանսպորտային միջոցներ է ոչնչացրել»:
Հաղորդվում է, որ ավելի ուշ խումբը 11 վայրկյան տեւողությամբ տեսանյութ էր հրապարակել եւ պատասխանատվություն էր ստանձնել պայթյունի համար:
Այս կապակցությամբ Կենտրոնական հրամանատարության մամուլի խոսնակ, ԱՄՆ բանակի մայոր Զոն Ռիգսբին հայտարարել էր, որ ԱՄՆ զինված ուժերն ուսումնասիրում են պայթյունի մասին հաղորդումները:
Քուվեյթի զինված ուժերի հայտարարության մեջ, որը հրապարակել է KUNA գործակալությունը, նշվում էր, որ Քուվեյթի զինված ուժերը «հերքել են դիվերսիաների մասին հաղորդումները հյուսիսային սահմանային անցակետում»:
