Ինչպես պատահաբար հայտնագործվեց անվտանգ ապակին
ՀԱՆՐԱՀԱՅՏ ՄՈԼՈՐՈՒԹՅՈՒՆՆԵՐԺամանակակից աշխարհում տեխնոլոգիաների զարգացման բացասական հետևանքներից մեկը ավտովթարներն են: Ամեն տարի դրանք արժենում են ավելի քան 1 միլիոն մարդու կյանք, իսկ ավելի քան հիսուն միլիոն մարդ տարբեր աստիճանի վնասվածքներ են ստանում:
Ճանապարհներին զոհերի և վիրավորների թիվը նվազեցնելու գործընթացին մեծ նպաստ է բերել ֆրանսիացի քիմիկոս Էդուարդ Բենեդիկտուսը: 20րդ դարի սկզբին մի անգամ Բենեդիկտուսը փորձերի ժամանակ ձեռքից պատահաբար վայր է գցել կոլբան, որը սակայն ընկնելուց չի կոտրվել, այլ պարզապես ճաքել է՝ պահպանելով իր սկզբնական տեսքը: Այս դրվագը ստիպել է Էդուարդին մտածել, թե ինչու դա այդպես եղավ: Այդ անոթում նախկինում պահվել էր ցել յուլոզայի նիտրատի եթեր-ալկոհոլային լուծույթ, որը, գոլորշիանալով, կոլբայի պատերին թողել էր ցել յուլոզային նիտրատի շատ բարակ շերտ, ինչը բոլորովին էլ չէր խանգարում տեսնել կոլբայի պարունակությունը, քանի որ լրիվ թափանցիկ էր:
Այդ ժամանակներում ավտոմեքենաների հողմապակիները պատրաստվում էին լրիվ սովորական ապակուց, որը ավտովթարի դեպքում կոտրվում էր՝ վերածվելով բազմաթիվ բեկորների և լուրջ վնասներ պատճառում ուղևորներին և վարորդին: Հենց նման ավտովթարի դեպքի մասին թերթերից իմանալուց հետո Բենեդիկտուսը հիշում է ճաքած կոլբայի մասին և մտածում անվտանգ ապակի ստեղծել: Ապակին ցել յուլոզայի նիտրատի շերտով պատելու մի քանի փորձից հետո գիտնականը գտնում է այն տարբերակը, որը իդեալականորեն հարմար է ավտոմոբիլային հողմապակիների համար: Դրա էությունն այն է, որ երկու սովորական ապակիների միջև ստեղծվում է ցել յուլոզայի նիտրատի շերտ:
Նման «սենդվիչը» տաքացնելուց հետո միջին շերտը հալվում է, որի շնորհիվ ապակիները պինդ սոսնձվում են միմյանց: Նման կրկնակի ապակին ունակ է անգամ մուրճով հարվածին դիմակայել, ընդ որում, այն առավելագույնը ճաքում է և չի վերածվում ապակե փշրանքների՝ պահպանելով իր սկզբնական տեսքը: Հետագայում՝ 1909 թվականին, Էդուարդ Բենեդիկտուսը արտոնագրում է իր հայտնագործությունը «Triplex» ապակի անվանումով: Միևնույն ժամանակ, մեկ այլ գիտնական՝ անգլիացի Ջոն Վուդը ևս փորձել է անվտանգ ապակի ստեղծել: Նա ստացել է անվտանգ ապակու գյուտի համար արտոնագիր 1905 թվականին:
Այնուամենայնիվ, Վուդի ապակին չի մտել մասսայական արտադրության մեջ իր բարձր գնի պատճառով: Նրա գյուտի էությունն այն էր, որ ցել յուլոզայի նիտրատի փոխարեն ներքին շերտում թանկարժեք կաուչուկ էր օգտագործվում: Բացի այդ, վերջնական արտադրանքը փոքր-ինչ կորցնում էր իր թափանցիկությունը, ինչը վարորդներին լրացուցիչ անհարմարություն էր պատճառում: Սկզբում Բենեդիկտուսի գյուտը մեքենաներ արտադրողները չեն ընդունել, քանի որ այն մեծացնում էր արտադրվող ավտոմեքենայի արժեքը:
Բայց փոխարենը այն գնահատվել է զինվորականների կողմից: «Triplex» անվտանգ ապակին իր մկրտությունն է ստացել Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմի տարիներին. այն օգտագործվել է որպես հակագազի ակնոցի ապակի: Ավտոմոբիլային արդյունաբերության մեջ առաջին անգամ «Triplex»-ի օգտագործումը ներդրել է Հենրի Ֆորդը: Դա տեղի է ունեցել 1919 թվականին: Մոտ 15 տարի է պահանջվել, որ ավտոմեքենաների այլ արտադրողներ ևս անցնեն անվտանգ ապակիների օգտագործման, ընդ որում, ներկայումս էլ դրանք ոչ միայն օգտագործվում են, այլ անգամ պարտադիր են համարվում:
