Թուրքիայի հետ տարաձայնություններն Արեւելյան Միջերկրական ծովի դեմ տարածքային պահանջների շուրջ պետք է լուծվեն Հաագայի միջազգային արբիտրաժում: Այս մասին հայտարարել է Կիպրոսի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Նիկոս Քրիստոդուլիդեսը, փոխանցում է Euronews-ը:
«Մենք առաջարկել ենք դիմել Հաագայի միջազգային դատարան: Մենք պատրաստ ենք ընդունել այն, ինչ կորոշի Դատարանը, եւ քանի որ Թուրքիան պնդում է, որ իրենք շատ ամուր իրավական դիրքորոշում ունեն, որոշումը պետք է կայացնի Դատարանը: Բայց Թուրքիայից դեռ պատասխան չկա»,- ասել է Քրիստոդուլիդեսը:
«Միայն երկխոսությունը կարող է լուծման հանգեցնել, եւ այս համատեքստում մենք խնդրեցինք Թուրքիային քննարկել ծովային սահմանները Կիպրոսի հյուսիսում եւ արեւմուտքում: Սակայն Անկարան հրաժարվեց»,- ասել է նա:
Քրիստոդուլիդեսի մեկնաբանություններն արվել են այն բանից հետո, երբ Կիպրոսն արգելափակեց Եվրամիության` Բելառուսի դեմ պատժամիջոցներ կիրառելու ծրագրերը` պատճառաբանելով համանման գործողությունների բացակայությունը Թուրքիայի դեմ` հորատման ապօրինի աշխատանքների պատճառով կղզու տարածքից դուրս:
Նա ասել է, որ ԵՄ-ն չպետք է «ա լյա կարտ» արձագանքի անդամ պետությունների ինքնիշխան իրավունքների խախտումներին:
