Շուշիի առանձնակի գումարտակի 3-րդ դասակի հրամանատար, ազատամարտիկ Ժորա Ֆարյանի համար Ադրբեջանի սանձազերծած ագրեսիան ո՛չ անսպասելի էր, ո՛չ էլ զարմանալի:

«Ազատամարտ է սկսվել: Իրենք սկսել են, մենք պատասխանել ենք ու շարունակելու ենք պատասխանել: Ես իսկապես հպարտանում եմ մեր բանակով: Սա պաթոս չէ, «կեցցե»-ներ ասել չեմ սիրում, բայց ես պարզապես հիացած եմ թե՛ հրամկազմով, թե՛ զինվորներով, թե՛ կամավորականներով, թե՛ մեր ամբողջ ազգով: Հպարտությունից բացի այլ զգացում չկա, բոլորը պետք է մտածեն, որ հայ լինելը հպարտություն է: Երբ մեզ մոտ անգամ մի փոքր արտաքին վտանգ է լինում, ամբողջ ազգը մի մարդ է դառնում: Մոտ հինգ օր առաջ, երբ դեռ այս վտանգը չկար, թե՛ հեռուստատեսությամբ, թե՛ փողոցներում, օրինակ՝ դիմակի համար կռիվ էին անում: Բայց ընդամենը մի րոպեն բավարար է, որ բոլորը մի մարդ դառնան: Բնականաբար, այս գործողություններից ու հաղթանակից հետո նորից մեր առօրյային կվերադառնանք, այդ ամենը կրկին կլինի, բայց հպարտանալու երևույթ է, որ մի րոպեում ամեն ինչ մոռացվում է, դառնում են մի մարդ, մի ազգ, մի զինվոր ու մի ավտոմատ: Մեր բանակով, մեր ազգով ու մեր պետությամբ հպարտանալու առիթներ կան, և դրանք շատ են»,-ասաց մեր զրուցակիցը՝ ընդգծելով, որ միգուցե աշխարհազոր ասվածը թղթի վրա որպես մոդել դեռ չի ամրագրվել, բայց որ այն կա, միանշանակ է:

Ժորա Ֆարյանի խոսքով, զարմանալի չէ, որ Թուրքիան իր աջակցությունն ու մասնակցությունը պետք է ունենար:

 «Վերջին շրջանում թե՛ Թուրքայի, թե՛ Ադրբեջանի կողմից հնչող հայտարարությունները, ինչպես նաև համատեղ զորավարժություններն ավելի թեժ գործողություններ սկսելու նախավարժանքներն էին: Չմոռանանք՝ նույն Տավուշյան գործողությունների օրերին տեղի ունեցածը ևս նախավարժանք էր: Դեռ այն ժամանակ բոլոր խելոք մարդիկ կանխատեսումներ էին անում՝ ասելով, որ սա նախերգանք է, և ավելի թեժ շրջան է լինելու, ինչպես և եղավ: Հիմա մենք առաջնային հարց ունենք. Ադրբեջանը պետք է երկար ժամանակով մոռանա, որ ռազմական ճանապարհով կամ զենքի ուժով կարող է մեր ազգին ծնկի իջեցնել: Այս փուլում, որքան էլ տևեն գործողությունները, կարևոր է ապացուցենք, որ Ադրբեջանը շանս չունի: Որքանով տեղեկացված եմ՝ ամեն ինչ արվում է հենց այս ուղղությամբ»,-եզրափակեց նա:
