Վահագն Ասատրյանն այն հրամանատարն է, որը ոչ մի քայլ չէր դնի, մինչեւ վստահ չլիներ, որ բոլոր զինվորներն ապահով են։  Հետմահու Ազգային հերոսի կոչման արժանացած գնդապետի մասին NEWS.am-ի հետ զրույցում պատմեց նրա մարտական ընկերներից Ավետիս Առաքելյանը։

 

«Բոլոր դեպքերում իր նպատակը միշտ եղել է այն, որ իր անձնակազմից կորուստներ չունենա, բայց հաղթանակած դուրս գա ու միշտ էլ դուրս է եկել։ Միշտ իր զինվորի կողքին է եղել։ Մոր հետ էր կապը պահում, ասում էր՝ այստեղից մի քայլ հետ չեմ դնի, մինչեւ իմ անձնակազմից վերջին մարդը հետ չգա։ Այնտեղ, որտեղ ինքը զոհվել է, գործ չուներ, բայց այս անգամ էլ որոշել էր իր զինվորի կողքին լինել։ Հերոս հրամանատար ենք կորցրել»,- պատմեց Ավետիս Առաքելյանը։

 

Վահագն Ասատրյանը լավագույն հրամանատարներից էր, որը հաղթանակին այլընտրանք երբեք չէր տեսնում. «Իր կարգախոսն էր՝ միշտ առաջ։ Իր նպատակն էր հաղթանակը։ Ու հիմա սրանից հետո էլ իր զորքը հաղթանակած է դուրս գալու, իր պարտքը պետք է տանք»։

 

«Համեստ Ժայռը»,- այսպես է գնդապետին իր գրառման մեջ նկարագրել Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանը։

 

«Վահագին ճանաչում եմ արդեն 23 տարի։ Երբ առաջին օրը ոտք դրեցի Վ. Սարգսյանի անվան ՌՀ Վահագնը եւ իր համակուրսեցի նորավարտ մի քանի լեյտենանտներ նշանակվել էին դասակի հրամանատարներ։ Մեզ շատ էին տանջում առաջին օրվանից, հետախույզի ծրագրով էինք անցնում նախնական պատրաստությունը։ Վահագնը միշտ բացատրում էր ամեն քայլի իմաստը։ Հետո շատ առիթներ եղան, որ մեր հրամանատարի հետ ընկերություն անենք։ Ինքը շատ տեղերում հրամանատար եղավ, բայց իր սիրտը մնում էր մի տեղում, որտեղ էլ փայլեց որպես հրամանատար։ Ենթակաները ամեն ինչում հենվում էին իր վրա որպես հայր։ Համեստագույն նվիրյալ ու խելացի զինվորական։ Փառք քեզ եղբայր»,- գրել է Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանը։

 

43-ամյա գնդապետը հետմահու արժանացել է Ազգային հերոսի կոչման։ Նրան այսօր՝ հոկտեմբերի 15-ին հուղարկավորեցին «Եռաբլուր» զինվորական պանթեոնում։
