Բրյուսովի համալսարանի ՍԳՍ ֆակուլտետի «Հասարակայնության հետ կապեր» բաժնի մագիստրոսի ծրագրի 1-ին կուրսի ուսանողները համադրել են տարբեր լրատվական աղբյուրներում տեղ գտած տեղեկատվությունը Ալբերտ Հովհաննիսյանի մասին և այն փոխանցել անգլերենի։

Նպատակն է՝ ոչ հայախոս լսարանին տեղեկացնել, որ Ալբերտը պարզապես «հայ հրաձիգ չէր», ինչպես ներկայացրել էր BBC պարբերականը, այլ երիտասարդ ուսանող, ով զոհվեց մեզ պարտադրված պատերազմում՝ հայրենիքը պաշտպանելիս։

The soldier of the Iconic Photo of the Artsakh- Azerbaijan Conflict Killed

The soldier marked as “The Armenian Gunner” on a recent BBC coverage of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict was a freshman at the Political Science Faculty of the Russian-Armenian University.

His father wrote in his Facebook “Our grief is boundless; the painful feelings of loss and powerlessness is what my family members experience these days, as we have lost a most loved one. He is now forever immortalized because of this photo, which spread around in no time.

We hadn’t heard from him for days, thinking of him, praying for him, and all our soldiers, who had stood up to defend their country and their right to peaceful life on their own land. But alas, he was not predestined to accomplish much…

Only one thing I ask you to do; when remembering Albert, please think of him as a young man, who had a country to love, hopes and dreams to follow, and things to attain, and whose most cherished love was his Motherland.

The pain of loss is unbearable; nonetheless it is overwhelmed with a great feeling of pride that I am the father of a real hero of our days. I realize that he is not just my, but everyone’s hero, someone setting an example for the generations to come. He and his fellows followed in their ancestors’ footsteps and were immortalized. They may be gone from our sight, but they are never gone from our heart”.

Albert Hovhanissyan, the 19-year-old Armenian student and Our Hero, who was killed when fighting against the Azeri aggression, was awarded a “Medal of Courage” by the Prime Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic for his service to his country.
