ԱՄՆ փոստային ծառայությունը երեքշաբթի՝ նոյեմբերի 4-ին, չի կարողացել նախագահական ընտրությունների ժամանակ օգտագործված ավելի քան 150 000 քվեաթերթիկ տեղ հասցնել նախագահական ընտրությունների օրվա համար, գրում է Washington Post- ը ՝ հղում տալով կառույցի ներկայացրած տվյալներին:
Պարբերականը տեղեկացնում է, որ փոստային ծառայությունը այդ տեղեկությունը տվել է նոյեմբերի 5-ին` դատարան ներկայացրած փաստաթղթերում:
Սպասվում է, որ ուշացված քվեաթերթիկների թիվը կավելանա` նոր տվյալների շարունակական հոսքի ֆոնին:
Փոստային ծառայության ներկայացուցիչ Դեվիդ Պարտենհայմերը նշում է, որ 150 000 ուշացած քվեաթերթիկների մեծ մասը այն նահանգներից են, որոնք ընդունում են դրանք նույնիսկ ընտրությունների օրվանից հետո: Այնուամենայնիվ, Արիզոնա և Ջորջիա նահանգներում ուշացման պատճառով չեղյալ է հայտարարվել ավելի քան 800 փոստային քվեարկություն:
Մի շարք նահանգներ, ինչպիսիք են Հյուսիսային Կարոլինան և Փենսիլվանիան, շարունակում են ընդունել փոստով ուղարկված քվեաթերթիկներն ընտրությունների օրվանից հետո, այստեղ կարևորն այն է, որ փոստային նամականիշը թվագրված լինի մինչ նոյեմբերի 3-ը:
