Հալաբյան փողոցի և Կիևյան կամրջի հատվածում գտնվող խաչմերուկում տեղադրված տեսանկարահանող սարքերի տեսագրությունների ուսումնասիրություը ցույց է տվել, որ Գառնիկ Պետրոսյանը միայնակ գնացել է Կիևյան կամուրջ և միայնակ բարձրանալով արգելապատնեշի վրա՝ նետվել է ցած: Քրեական գործով մեղադրյալ Գառնիկ Պետրոսյանի՝ Կիևյան կամրջից ցած նետվելու միջոցով ինքնասպանություն գործելու դեպքի առթիվ պարզաբանում է ներկայացրել ՀՀ դատախազությունը:

2020թ. նոյեմբերի 13-ի երեկոյան Կիևյան կամրջի տակ հայտնաբերվել էր 27-ամյա Գառնիկ Պետրոսյանի դին:

Նշանակվել է դատաբժշկական փորձաքննություն, նոյեմբերի 14-ին դեպքի առթիվ Աջափնյակ և Դավթաշեն վարչական շրջանների քննչական բաժնում ՀՀ քրեական օրենսգրքի 110-րդ հոդվածի 1-ին մասով հարուցվել է քրեական գործ:

Քննության ընթացքում պարզվել է, որ պատերազմը դադարեցնելու մասին եռակողմ հայտարարության հրապարակումից հետո ՀՀ կառավարության, Ազգային ժողովի շենքերում և պետական նշանակության այլ օբյեկտներում ու հասարակական վայրերում բռնություն գործադրելով, գույք ոչնչացնելով և վնասելով, իշխանության ներկայացուցչին զինված դիմադրելով՝ զուգորդված զանգվածային անկարգություններ կազմակերպելու և իրականացնելու  դեպքի առթիվ ՀՀ ԱԱԾ քննչական դեպարտամենտում քննվող քրեական գործով 2020թ. նոյեմբերի 10-ին Գ. Պետրոսյանը ձերբակալվել է ՀՀ քրեական օրենսգրքի 225-րդ հոդվածի 1-ին, 2-րդ և 4-րդ մասերով, 301-րդ հոդվածով 3011–րդ հոդվածի 1-ին մասով նախատեսված արարքներ կատարելու կասկածանքով, իսկ նոյեմբերի 13-ին նույն հոդվածներով նրան առաջադրվել է մեղադրանք: Եվ քանի որ նույն օրը՝ժամը 20:00-ին, լրացել է Գ. Պետրոսյանի ձերբակալման 72 ժամը, վարույթն իրականացնող մարմնի կողմից վերջինս բաց է թողնվել: Նույն օրը միջնորդություն է ներկայացվել Երևան քաղաքի ընդհանուր իրավասության դատարան՝ Գ. Պետրոսյանի նկատմամբ կալանավորումը որպես խափանման միջոց կիրառելու համար:
