 Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ ծայրագույն պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում դեկտեմբերի 9-ին ընդունել է Թեհրանի (Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետություն) փոխքաղաքապետ դոկտոր Մահմուդ Սալահին` ուղեկցությամբ ՀՀ-ում Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Սեյեդ Քազեմ Սաջադիի: Ինչպես  տեղեկացրին Մայր Աթոռի տեղեկատվական համակարգից, ողջունելով պաշտոնական պատվիրակության այցը համայն հայության հոգևոր կենտրոն` Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետն ընդգծել է, որ այսպիսի յուրաքանչյուր այցելություն նոր ներդրում է երկու երկրների միջև ձևավորված համագործակցության մեջ:

Այս կապակցությամբ Նորին Սրբությունը հավելել է, որ Հայ եկեղեցին ևս իր նպաստը պետք է բերի այդ կապերի ամրապնդման գործին: Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսը գոհունակությամբ է անդրադարձել Ահլ ալ-Բեյթի համաշխարհային համագումարի գլխավոր քարտուղար Այաթոլլա Մոհամմադ Հասան Ախթարիի` Հայաստան կատարած այցին` նշելով, որ միջկրոնական շփումները նույնպես կարևոր մաս են կազմում երկու ժողովուրդների միջև առկա բարեկամության:

Հանդիպմանը Մահմուդ Սալահին, ուրախություն հայտնելով Մայր Աթոռ այցելելու առիթով, Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետին է փոխանցել Թեհրանի քաղաքապետի ողջույնները: Փոխքաղաքապետը, մասնավորապես, խոսել է Հայաստանի և Իրանի ընդհանրությունների, մշակութային առնչակցությունների, ինչպես նաև Իրանում քրիստոնյա և իսլամ ժողովուրդների խաղաղ ու համերաշխ համակեցության մասին:

Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսը գնահատանքով է արձանագրել նաև Իրանի իշխանությունների կողմից Իրանում գործող հայկական եկեղեցիների և մշակութային կենտրոնների նկատմամբ ցուցաբերվող հոգածու վերաբերմունքը:

Զրույցի ընթացքում Գարեգին Բ կաթողիկոսը և Մահմուդ Սալահին անդրադարձ են կատարել աշխարհում տեղ գտնող ծայրահեղականության դրսևորումներին` վստահություն հայտնելով, որ միջազգային հանրության ջանքերով մարդկային կյանքից կվերացվեն նման երևույթները:

Հանդիպմանը ներկա է եղել Մայր Աթոռի արտաքին հարաբերությունների և արարողակարգի բաժնի տնօրեն Գերաշնորհ Տ. Նաթան արքեպիսկոպոս Հովհաննիսյանը:
