Մոնթեի ազատագրած Քարվաճառը հենց հայկական կողմի խնդրանքով է Մոնթեի ծննդյան օրը հանձնվում թշնամուն

«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է. «Այսօր Արցախի հերոս Մոնթե Մելքոնյանի ծննդյան օրն է: 1993 թվականի մարտ-ապրիլ ամիսներին նրա ղեկավարությամբ ազատագրվել է Քարվաճառը, որը նոյեմբերի 9-ին Հայաստանի Հանրապետության վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի, Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևի և Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի միջև ստորագրված եռակողմ հայտարարության հետևանքով այսօր պետք է հանձվի ադրբեջանական կողմին:
Երեկ հայկական զորքերի շարասյունը դուրս է եկել Քարվաճառից, վերջին անգամ լուսանկարվել ու հրաժեշտ տվել: Արցախում ռազմական գործողությունները դադարեցնելու մասին նոյեմբերի տասի եռակողմ հայտարարությամբ Ադրբեջանին Քարվաճառը պետք է հանձնվեր նոյեմբերի 15-ին, սակայն այն երկարաձգվել էր մինչև նոյեմբերի 25-ը:
Զինադադարի կնքումից հետո Քարվաճառի բնակիչները շտապում էին այդ կարճ ժամկետում հասցնել իրենց գույքը դուրս բերել, շատերն այրել են իրենց տները: Իսկ Քարվաճառի և Դադիվանքի շրջակայքում են տեղակայված ռուս խաղաղապահները: Քարվաճառում զինադադարի օրերին թալան և անտառահատումներ էին տեղի ունենում:
Առաջին անգամ հնարավոր եղավ տասը օրով հետաձգել Քարվաճառի հանձնումը հակառակորդին: Այն ժամանակ ադրբեջանական կողմը հայտնեց, թե պաշտոնական Երևանը Մոսկվայի միջոցով դիմել է Ադրբեջանին 10 օրով մինչև նոյեմբերի 25-ը Քարվաճառի հանձնումը հետաձգելու համար, և ադրբեջանական կողմը ընդառաջել է:
Այս պահին, սակայն, մենք տեղեկացանք, որ նման դիմում հայկական կողմից դեռևս առկա չէ, ինչը ենթադրում է, որ այսօր Քարվաճառն ամեն դեպքում կհանձնվի ադրբեջանական կողմին: Երեկ թե՛ ռուսական, թե՛ հայկական, թե՛ արցախյան կողմը խուսափում էին խոսել Քարվաճառի շուրջ հնարավոր զարգացումներից»:
