Երեկ սահմանների մասով ճշտումների հարց էր: Այս մասին լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ասել է Գեղամասարի համայնքապետ Հակոբ Ավետյանը՝ խոսելով Սոթքի հանքում տեղի ունեցած միջադեպի մասին:

Ավետյանի խոսքերով, տարածքն անցնում է Ադրբեջանին, դիրքավորում է տեղի ունենում, ադրբեջանցիների ներկայությունը դրա հետ է կապված եղել. «Ժողովրդի մոտ խուճապ առաջացավ, որ թուքերը մտել են ու գրավում են, հասնում են գյուղ:

Ես ասել եմ, որ նման խնդիր չկա, ուզել են մարդկանց մոտից խուճապը հանել, քանի որ հարձակում չի եղել: Երեկ իրենց պահվածքում ագրեսիվություն չի եղել: Ես չեմ ասում, թե բարի են, բարի գործ են ուզում անել, ուղղակի ասում եմ, որ երեկվա կարգավիճակը շատ նորմալ է եղել: Սպասում են, թե ինչ կլինի բանակցությունների արդյունքում:

Այս պահին որևէ վտանգ չկա, որ կարող է առաջ գալ, գյուղում խնդիր առաջանա: Հիմա այս վիճակն է: Չեմ կարող ասել, թե հետո ինչ զարգացումներ կլինեն, ամեն դեպքում մեր բախտը չի բերել, որ նրանք այդքան էլ բարոյական թշնամի չեն: Ամեն ինչ էլ տեսել ենք, սպասում ենք, զգուշություն պետք է»:

Հարցին, թե երբ են իրենք իմացել, որ հանքի մի մասը տրվում է ադրբեջանական կողմին, Ավետյանը նշեց՝ եթե Քարվաճառն անցնում է թշնամուն, բնական է, որ հանքի մի մասն էլ է անցնելու, քանի որ սահմանը հենց հանքի տարածքով է անցնում. «Մեզ այդ մասին հայտնի է դաձել այն ժամանակ, երբ իմացանք, որ Քարվաճառն անցնում է Ադրբեջանին, բայց թե ինչքան մասն է անցնում, պարզ կլինի որոշումից հետո: Հիմա ճշգրտումներ են կատարվում, թե որտեղով կանցնի սահմանը, ես չեմ որոշում, չեմ կարող մեկնաբանել: Սպասում ենք, որ ամեն ինչ գոնե խաղաղ կլինի»:

Ավետյանը նշեց, որ ինքը գրություն չի ստացել փոփոխությունների մասին. «Իմ համայնքի մասով որևէ փոփոխություն չի կատարվում, սահման չենք զիջում, իսկ սահմանից այն կողմ եղել է Արցախի Քարվաճառի տարածքը: Ինձ թվում է, որ գրության կարիք չկար: Հանքի՝ իմ վարչական շրջանի տարածքում գտնվող մասը մնում է նույն ձև»:

Հարցին, թե ինչպես է շահագործվելու հանքը, Ավետյանի խոսքերով, ճիշտ չի լինի, եթե ինքը պատասխանի, բանակցությունների արդյունքը ցույց կտա. «Կարող է ինչ-որ զիջումներ լինի, կարող է հանքն ամբողջությամբ մնա մեզ մոտ, բանակցությունների արդյունքը ցույց կտա: Ես ենթադրություններ չեմ կարող անել»:

Հանքում աշխատում է մոտ 1700 աշխատակից, ոչ բոլորն են Ավետյանի ղեկավարած համայնքի բնակիչներ. «Եթե հանքը չաշխատեց, մեր տարածքի բնակիչները սոցիալական խնդիրներ են ունենալու, ապրուստի միջոց է»:
