«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է.
Վարդենիսի Սոթքի ոսկու հանքի աշխատակիցները՝ 800-ից ավելի մարդ, հայտնի դեպքերից հետո աշխատանքի չի գնում։ Ֆաբրիկայի հայաստանյան ղեկավարությունն աշխատողներին հորդորել է չգալ աշխատանքի` անվտանգության նկատառումներից ելնելով, ասել են, որ բանակցություններ են վարում ադրբեջանցիների հետ, որպեսզի հասկանան, թե ինչպես պետք է կազմակերպեն հետագա աշխատանքները։
Սոթքի ոսկու հանքը, ըստ պաշտոնական մեկնաբանության, կիսով չափ հայկական, կիսով չափ ադրբեջանական կողմին է անցնում։ Մինչդեռ աշխատակիցներին ասվել է, որ այդ համամասնությունը 30/70 է․ 30 տոկոսը՝ հայկական, մնացածը՝ ադրբեջանական վերահսկողության տակ, հենց այդ պատճառով էլ ադրբեջանցիները հորդորել են դուրս բերել տեխնիկան։
Եթե բանակցություններն արդյունք չտան, ապա ավելի քան 25 համայնք կհայտնվի ծանր վիճակում․ հանքում աշխատում էին Վարդենիս քաղաքի եւ հարակից 24 համայնքների բնակիչները
