Գլոբալ տաքացումն արդեն շատ վճռականորեն մտել է իր իրավունքների մեջ, ուստի Երկրի սառցադաշտերն ամեն տարի ավելի ու ավելի ինտենսիվ են հալվում: Սառցադաշտերի հալվելը մի գործընթաց է, որը կտեւի հարյուրավոր կամ նույնիսկ հազարավոր տարիներ, բայց ինչ կլինի, եթե մոլորակի ամբողջ սառույցը մեկ գիշերվա ընթացքում անհետանա՝ վերածվելով հեղուկ ջրի: Թեմայի վերաբերյալ հոդվածը հրապարակել է «Հանրամատչելի մեխանիկան»։
