Մինչ ԱՄՆ ամբողջ տարածքում դիտվում է կորոնավիրուսով վարակման դեպքերի թվի աճ, Հարավային Կալիֆոռնիայում դիահերձարանները ստիպված են սգացող ընտանիքներին ճանապարհել, քանի որ դիերի համար տեղ չունեն, հայտնում է Associated Press-ը:

Նահանգի Սգո բյուրոների տնօրենների ասոցիացիայից ասում են, որ դիահերձարանները լեփ-լեցուն են այն բանին զուգահեռ, թե ինչպես է ԱՄՆ-ն մոտենում ողբերգական թվին՝ COVID-19-ի հետեւանքով մահվան 350 հազար դեպքին:

Ջոն Հոփքինսի համալսարանի տվյալներով՝ երկրում կորոնավիրուսով է վարակվել ավելի քան 20 մլն մարդ:

«Ես 40 տարի աշխատել եմ հուղարկավորման ինդուստրիայում եւ կյանքիս ընթացքում երբեք չեմ կարծել, որ կարող է նման բան պատահել, որ ես ստիպված կլինեմ ընտանիքին ասել. «Ո՛չ, մենք չենք կարող վերցնել ձեր ընտանիքի անդամին»,- ասել է Լոս Անջելեսի Մայրցամաքային դիահերձարանի տեր Մագդա Մալդոնադոն:

Մայրցամաքային դիահերձարանը միջինը կատարում է օրական դիակիզման մոտ 30 գործողություն, ինչը 6 անգամ գերազանցում է նրա սովորական ցուցանիշը: Սգո բյուրոների տերերը զանգահարում են միմյանց՝ իմանալու համար, թե կարող է որեւէ մեկը օժանդակել ծանրաբեռնվածության հաղթահարմանը, եւ պատասխանը միշտ նույնն է՝ իրենք նույնպես լեփ-լեցուն են:

Սգո բյուրոների տնօրենների կալիֆոռնիական ասոցիացիայի գործադիր տնօրեն Բոբ Աքերմանն իր հերթին նշել է, որ թաղման եւ դիակիզման ամբողջ գործընթացը դանդաղել է, ներառյալ մարմինների բալզամապատումը եւ մահվան վկայականների ստացումը: Սովորական ժամանակ դիակիզումը կարող է տեղի ունենալ մեկ-երկու օրվա ընթացքում, իսկ հիմա դա տեւում է նվազագույնը մեկ շաբաթ եւ ավելի:

Լոս Անջելեսի շրջանում, որը վերածվել է Կալիֆոռնիայում կորոնավիրուսային ճգնաժամի էպիկենտրոնի, 10 հազար մահ է գրանցվել միայն COVID-19-ի հետեւանքով: Այս շրջանում հիվանդանոցները գերծանրաբեռնված են եւ աշխատանքը դժվարությամբ են հաղթահարում, քանի որ բուժում են շնչուղիների հիվանդություններով աննախադեպ թվով պացիենտների: Շաբաթ ժամանել են ԱՄՆ բանակի ինժեներական զորքերի զորամասերը որոշ հիվանդանոցներին թթվածնի մատակարարման համակարգերի արդիականացման համար:
