Այսօր` դեկտեմբերի 11-ին, խոշոր ու ողբերգական ավտովթար է տեղի ունեցել Գեղարքունիքի մարզում: Ժամը 19:00-ի սահմաններում Սևան-Մարտունի –Գետափ ավտոճանապարհի 11-րդ կմ հատվածում բախվել են Mercedes 600 մակնիշի 77 QD 757 համարանիշի և Ford մակնիշի ավտոմեքենաները: Ինչպես դեպքի վայրից հայտնում է ֆոտոլրագրող Գագիկ Շամշյանը, բախման հետևանքով մեքենաները դուրս են եկել երթևեկելի գոտուց. Ford-ը հայտնվել է դաշտամիջյան հատվածում, իսկ Mercedes-ը` քարերի վրա:
 
Վթարի հետևանքով 3 հոգի տեղում մահացել են: Դեպքի վայր են ժամաենլ ճանապարհային ոստիկանության 2-րդ սպայական գումարտարկի 4-րդ վաշտի աշխատակիցերը` գումարտակի հրամանատարի տեղակալ Արսեն Մարդոյանի և վաշտի հրամանատար Սերգեյ Հակոբյանի գլխավորությամբ: Ժամանել է նաև ոստիկանության Սևանի բաժնի օպերատիվ խումբը` Սևանի ոստիկանապետ Վիգեն Աղեկյանի գլխավորությամբ:
 
Մահացածներից 2-ին Ford-ի միջից դուրս են բերել Սևանի և Գավառի հրշեջ-փրկարարները, ովքեր օգտագործել են հատուկ տեխնիկա: Մահացածներից մեկի դին տեղափոխել են Գավառի, 2-ը` Սևանի դիահերձարաններ: Վթարի մասին ՃՈ օպերատիվ կառավարման կենտրոնից տեղեկությունը փախանցել են Հայաստանի քննչական կոմիտեի Գեղարքունիքի մարզային քննչական վարչություն և Սևանի քննչական բաժին, որտեղից ժամանել են մարզի քննչական վարևչության պետ Արտավազդ Ղազարյանը և Սևանի քննչական բաժնի պետի պաշտոնակատար Հովիկ Մանուկյանը: Փաստի առթիվ Սևանի քննչական բաժնում հարուցվել է քրեական գործ` ՀՀ քր. օր.-ի 242 հոդվածի 3-րդ մասի ճանապարհատրանսպորտային պատահար, որն անզգուշությամբ առաջացրել է 2 և ավելի մարդու մահ) և 244 հոդվածի (ճանապարհատրանսպորտային պատահարի դեպքի վայրից հեռանալը) հատկանիշներով: Ոստիկանությունն ու քննչաական բաժինը պարզում են վարորդների և մահացածների ինքնությունը:
 
Ձեռնարկվում են նաև օպերատիվ- հետախուզական և քննչական համատեղ գործողություններ` Mercedes-ի վարորդին հայտնաբերելու ուղղությամբ: Քանի որ հիվանդանոցներից ահազանգ չկա Mercedes-ի վիրավոր վարորդի մասին` կան կասկածներ, որ նա վթարից հետո դիմել է փախուստի: Գ. Շամշյանը հայտնում է, որ, ըստ նախնական տեղեկությունների` վթարի մեղավորը եղել է Mercedes-ի վարորդը, ով դուրս է եկել հանդիպակաց երթևեկելի գոտի և բախվել Ford-ին: Հաշվի առնելով վթարի վտանգավորության աստիճանը` դեպքի վայր է ժամանել նաև Սևանի դատախազության դատախազի տեղակալ Պետիկ Պետրոսյանը: Ֆոտոլրագրողը հայտնում է նաև, որ վթարի պատճառը եղել է արագության գերազանցումը, իսկ ճանապարհը անցանելի էր և չոր. ոչ մի սառույցի և ձյան խոչընդոտ չի եղել:
