Աշխարհը կարող է բախվել կորոնավիրուսի, գրիպի կամ նախկինում անհայտ հիվանդության նոր համավարակի հետ, իր բլոգում գրել է Microsoft-ի համահիմնադիր Բիլ Գեյթսը: Նրա կարծիքով՝ 2020-ին մարդկության առջեւ ծառացած նույն դժվարություններից խուսափելու համար նոր համավարակի հնարավորությանը պետք է «նույնքան լուրջ վերաբերվել, որքան պատերազմի սպառնալիքին»:

Նոր համավարակի կանխարգելումը կպահանջի «տարեկան տասնյակ միլիարդավոր դոլարներ»,- նշել է Գեյթսը: Նա նման ներդրումները մեծ է անվանել, բայց ընդգծել է, որ կորոնավիրուսի համավարակը աշխարհի համար 28 տրիլիոն դոլար արժեցավ: «Աշխարհին միլիարդներ է պետք ծախսել՝ տրիլիոններ խնայելու համար (եւ միլիոնավոր մահեր կանխելու համար)»,- գրել է միլիարդատերը, հայտնում է Forbes-ը:

Գեյթսի կարծիքով՝ պետական մարմինները առաջին հերթին համավարակից հետո եւս պետք է շարունակեն ներդրումներ կատարել այնպիսի բաների մեջ, որոնք կօգնեն հաղթահարել այն: Օրինակ՝ ԱՄՆ-ում փորձարկման բավարար կարողություն ստեղծելու համար ամիսներ են պահանջվել, նշել է միլիարդատերը: Նա հույս է հայտնել, որ հաջորդ համավարակի սկզբին կստեղծվեն «մեգադիագնոստիկ հարթակներ», որոնք թույլ կտան շաբաթական փորձարկել աշխարհի բնակչության 20%-ին:

Բացի այդ, Գեյթսը հայտարարել է «նախազգուշացման գլոբալ համակարգ» ստեղծելու անհրաժեշտության մասին: Այս գաղափարը ենթադրում է արագ արձագանքման խմբերի ձեւավորում՝ ինչպես հրշեջներինն է: Խոսքը «լիովին պատրաստված մասնագետների խմբերի մասին է, որոնք պատրաստ են ակնթարթորեն արձագանքել հնարավոր ճգնաժամերին»: Իրենց հիմնական գործունեությունից ազատ ժամանակ նման մասնագետները կպահպանեն իրենց հմտությունները ցանկալի մակարդակում՝ պայքարելով մալարիայի կամ պոլիոմիելիտի դեմ, ասել է միլիարդատերը: Նրա խոսքով՝ աշխարհին անհրաժեշտ են շուրջ 3000 նման մասնագետներ:

Անհրաժեշտ է նաեւ կանոնավոր «վարժանքներ» կազմակերպել, որպեսզի հիվանդության բռնկումներին արձագանք մշակեն այնպես, ինչպես «զորավարժություններն են պատրաստում իրական ռազմական գործողությունների»,- գրել է Գեյթսը։ Նա շեշտել է, որ այնտեղ, որտեղ վերջին շրջանում շնչառական հիվանդությունների բռնկումներ են եղել (Թայվանում SARS-ի համաճարակի բռնկումից հետո եւ Հարավային Կորեայում` MERS-ից հետո), COVID-19-ի հանդեպ արձագանքն ավելի արագ է եղել: Նման իրադարձությունների մոդելավորումը հնարավոր կդարձնի, որ բոլորն արագ արձագանքեն, գրել է միլիարդատերը:

Իր ուղեցույցում Գեյթսն ասել է, որ «հաջորդ համավարակը, եթե մեր բախտը բերի, 20 տարի հետո տեղի կունենա»: Միեւնույն ժամանակ, նա հորդորել է «ելնել նրանից, որ դա կարող է տեղի ունենալ երեք տարի հետո»: Այս տարի աշխարհին, ըստ միլիարդատիրոջ, «լավ լուրեր» են սպասվում։ Նա այս դիրքորոշումը բացատրել է նրանով, որ դիմակները, սոցիալական հեռավորությունը եւ այլ միջոցառումները կարող են դանդաղեցնել վիրուսի տարածումը: Բացի այդ, գարնանը պատվաստանյութերը կսկսեն գլոբալ ազդեցություն ունենալ հիվանդության տարածման վրա, ակնկալում է միլիարդատերը:
