Վատիկանում ՀՀ նախկին դեսպան Միքայել Մինասյանը ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրել է.

«Մենք այլևս չունենք բանակ։ Առավոտից մարդիկ ինքնամոռաց շնորհավորում են բանակի տոնը, խոսում են հայ սպայի պատվի և բանակի մարտունակության մասին։ Բայց ես անկեղծորեն չեմ հասկանում՝ արդյոք այդ աստիճան ինքնախաբեությունը կարևոր է իրականությունից։

Բանակն ուներ առաքելություն պաշտպանելու հայ ժողովրդին արտաքին թշնամուց։ Այդ առաքելությունը ձախողեց։ Երկրորդ. բանակը կարող էր երկիրը փրկել ներքին թշնամուց։ Դա էլ չարեց։

Ավելին, մենք հավանաբար միակ բանակն էինք, որ վերջին պատերազմում, ամեն նահանջից ու պարտությունից հետո ավելանում էին ազգային հերոսները, նոր գեներալներն ու նոր մեդալակիրները։ Որքան շրջան էինք հանձնում, այնքան հերոս ու գեներալ էր ծնվում։

Բայց շնորհավորանքների հեղեղն ու պաթոսը չի դադարում։ Բանակի տոնը շնորհավորում են մարդիկ, որոնք ստեղծել են այդ բանակը և չեն ցանկանում տեսնել, որ այն այսօր չկա։ Շնորհավորում են մարդիկ, որոնք բանակը քանդել են։ Շնորհավորում են բարձրաստիճան չծառայածներն ու բանակից թռածները, որոնք գաղափար չունեն՝ ինչ է բանակը։

Ես հասկանում եմ, որ շնորհավորում եք, որովհետև չեք ցանկանում ընդունել շատ ցավոտ իրականությունը, որովհետև գուցե նաև տարիների իներցիա է։ Այսօրվա իշխանավորները շնորհավորում են բանակի օրը ճիշտ այնպես, ինչպես անհավատները շնորհավորում են Սուրբ Ծնունդը։

Եթե այսօր ինքնախաբեությամբ մի կերպ օրը մաշացրիք։ Բա ի՞նչ եք անելու մայիսի 9-ին։ Նույնպես շնորհավորելո՞ւ եք: Որովհետև բացարձակ նույն երևույթներն են նույն հարթությունում՝ շնորհավորել Շուշիի ազատագրման օրը, երբ այն մեր չէ, նույնն է, որ շնորհավորել բանակի օրը, երբ այն պարտվեց ու ջախջախվեց։

Բանակը բաղկացած է գեներալներից, սպաներից, զինվորներից և ոգուց։ Մենք ոչինչ չունենք բացի զինվորներից։ Նրանց մի մասն էլ հանգչում է Եռաբլուրում, կամ գերի է, կամ անհետ կորած։ Ես նրանց չեմ կարող շնորհավորել, այդքան ոչ անսիրտ եմ, ո՜չ ցինիկ, ո՛չ էլ անադեկվատ։ Նրանց պարզապես կասեմ. տղե՛րք, ձեր ցավը տանեմ։

Հ.Գ. Այսօր իրականում պետք էր խոսել նոր բանակի մասին՝ տեսակով, փիլիսոփայությամբ, կառուցվածքով ու նպատակներով նոր զինուժ ստեղծելու մասին։ Բայց որպեսզի սկսվի այդ հանրային դիսկուրսը, պետք է ընդունել, որ հինը մեռած է՝ գոյություն չունի։ Մենք շարունակում ենք կենացներով խաբել ինքներս մեզ։ Պետք է ընդունենք հիվանդությունը, հասկանանք ով է հիվանդացրել, ընդունենք, որ հիմա այլ բան է պետք, հետո արդեն խոսենք նոր ուժի, նոր զինուժի, նոր հերոսի մասին»։
