«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է

Պլազմային հեռուստացույցների պատմությունը սկսվել է միայն կես դար առաջ: Այդ նոր հեռուստացույցի գյուտը կարելի է վերագրել ԱՄՆ-ի Իլինոյսի ամերիկյան համալսարանի պրոֆեսորներ Դոնալդ Բիտցերին և Գին Սլոտտին, որոնք ստեղծել են առաջին պլազմային հեռուստացույցի նախատիպը: Դա տեղի է ունեցել 1964 թվականի հուլիսին: Հետագայում երկու գյուտարարների աշխատանքին միացել է նույն համալսարանի ասպիրանտ Ռոբերտ Վիլսոնը: Բայց պլազմային հեռուստացույցները միանգամից հաջողություն չեն ունեցել և միայն աշխարհում թվային տեխնոլոգիաների հայտնվելուց հետո են պահանջված դարձել: Պլազմայի հատկությունների հետազոտությունը եղել է այն, ինչի վրա աշխատել են այն ժամանակ նոր հեռուստացույցի գյուտարարները: Պլազմային հեռուստացույցը դարձել է կատոդային ճառագայթային հեռուստացույցի այլընտրանքային փոխարինում, որի աշխատանքի սկզբունքը հիմնված է ճառագայթային խողովակի վրա:

Կատոդային ճառագայթային հեռուստացույցի թարթող պատկերը բավարար որակ է ապահովել տեսանյութերի դիտումների համար, բայց շատ ավելի վատ է եղել համակարգչային գրաֆիկայի համար: Հենց Դոնալդ Բիտցերն է դարձել նոր տիպի հեռուստացույց ստեղծելու նախագծի հիմնադիր, իսկ օգնել են նրան Ռոբերտ Վիլսոնը և Գին Սլոտտին: Իրականացված աշխատանքների արդյունքում նրանց հաջողվել է ստեղծել մեկ բջիջով պլազմային հեռուստացույցի աշխարհում առաջին մոդելը: Այդ գյուտի ներկայիս անալոգներն այսօր ունեն միլիոնավոր այդպիսի բջիջներ: 1964 թվականից հետո հեռուստաընկերությունները որոշել են օգտագործել պլազմային հեռուստացույցները որպես կատոդային ճառագայթային խողովակներով հեռուստացույցների հնարավոր փոխարինում:

1999 թվականին է ստեղծվել 60 դյույմ էկրանով պլազմային հեռուստացույցը: Այն ստեղծել են Panasonic և Matsushita ընկերությունները: Այդ հեռուստացույցը համատեղել է HDTV հեռուստատեսության համար պահանջվող լայնացումը և չափը, ընդ որում, հեռուստացույցը զգալիորեն բարակ է դարձել: Պլազմային հեռուստացույցները միանգամից չեն ձեռք բերել իրենց ժողովրդականությունը, դրա իրականացման վրա շատ ժամանակ է ծախսվել: Այսօր պլազմային հեռուստացույցներին բաժին է ընկնում շուկայի ոչ ավելի, քան 7 % -ը: Հեղուկ բյուրեղային հեռուստացույցների հայտնվելը նոր ուղղություն է տվել հեռուստացույցների զարգացմանը, ինչը իրականում «պլազմայի» համար բացառել է հետագա ցանկացած կոմերցիոն զարգացում:
