Հույն վերականգնող Վենիզելոս Գավրիլակիսը և նրա գործընկերները, ութ տարվա ընթացքում, Ստամբուլի 25 հույն ուղղափառ եկեղեցիներում վերականգնել են արվեստի նմուշներ, սրբապատկերներ, որմնանկարներ և նկարներ, հայտնում է Greek City Times-ը:

Նրանց վերջին աշխատանքը Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Պայծառակերպությունը պատկերող 16-րդ դարի նկար է, որի վերականգնումը նախատեսվածից երկար է տևել` կորոնավիրուսի հետ կապված սահմանափակումների պատճառով:

«Համաճարակը կանցնի, դրա դեմ պայքարելու համար մենք բոլորս պետք է հոգևոր տեսանկյունից միավորված մնանք», - Reuters- ին տված հարցազրույցի ընթացքում ասել է Գավրիլակիսը և հավելել. «Մենք միշտ աշխատելու ենք այս թանկարժեք և հավիտենական իրերի վրա, որպեսզի մարդիկ տեսնեն դրանք և ներշնչվեն ու ուժ ստանան դրանցից»:

Թուրքիայում կանգուն է ավելի քան 435 եկեղեցի, որտեղ կան քրիստոնեական արվեստի բազմաթիվ գործեր: Պատմության ընթացքում կրոնական և մշակութային շատ գործեր ոչնչացվել են, փոփոխվել, վնասվել կամ կորել են պատերազմների ժամանակ, նշել է Greek City Times-ը:

Ստամբուլում իր և իր թիմի կողմից վերականգնվել է Ieri Parakatathiki Labs կոչվող ամենահին դիմանկարը, որը մ.թ.ա. 2-րդ կամ 3-րդ դարի Ֆայյումյան դիմանկար է (հոգեհանգստյան գեղանկարչական դիմանկարներ, հայտնաբերվել են 1887 թվականին Լիբիական անապատի Ֆայյում օազիսում): 

Անցյալ տարի, Սուրբ Սոֆիայից հետո, Թուրքիայի պատմական Չորա եկեղեցին նույնպես վերածվել է մզկիթի, ինչը նույնպես քննադատվել է միջազգային հանրության կողմից: Մասնագետները մտահոգված են, որ 6-րդ դարում կառուցված Սուրբ Սոֆիայի տաճարի վերափոխումը կարող է վնասել տաճարի որմնանկարներն և արվեստի նմուշները:
