Բաքվի բռնապետի հետ, այսպես կոչված, բանավոր, իսկ ինչպես հիմա է կասկածվում, նաև գրավոր ամոթալի «ըմբռնումների» հետևանքով Սանասարի (Ղուբաթլու) և Կովսականի (Զանգելան) շրջաններում մեր դիրքերը հանձնելու հետևանքով Գորիս-Մեղրի հատվածում թշնամու համար ստեղծվել են խիստ նպաստավոր պայմաններ ցանկության դեպքում փաստացի վերահսկողություն սահմանելու Հայաստան-Իրան ցամաքային հաղորդակցության անխտիր բոլոր ուղիների վրա։

Այդ հաղորդակցությունն ապահովող ճանապարհները Գորիսից մինչև Կապան երկուսն են, որոնցից Մ2 (Երևան-Երասխ-Գորիս-Մեղրի-Իրանի սահման) միջպետական նշանակության մայրուղին վտանգված է, Որոտանի և Շուռնուխի հատվածներում և Կապանի մոտակայքում, իսկ Հ46 (Տաթև-Աղվանի-Կապան) հանրապետական նշանակության հիմնականում ապահով ճանապարհը վտանգված է ծայր հարավում՝ կրկին Կապանի հատվածում, որտեղ այն միանում է Մ2-ին։

Կապանից մինչև Մեղրի գնացող ճանապարհները ևս երկուսն են, որոնցից ապահով է Մ2-ի շարունակությունը (Կապան-Քաջարան-Մեղրի-Իրանի սահման), սակայն Ճակատենի հատվածում վտանգված է Մ17 (Կապան-Ծավ) միջպետական ճանապարհը, որը կառուցվել է՝ որպես ձմռանը դժվարանցանելի Մ2 միջպետական ճանապարհի Կապան-Քաջարան-Մեղրի հատվածի այլընտրանք։

Այսինքն՝ Որոտանի, Շուռնուխի, Կապանի և Ճակատենի հատվածներում առաջացած ճանապարհային խնդիրները ոչ միայն վերաբերում են Հայաստանի ներպետական հաղորդակցության անվտանգությանը, այլ նաև մեզ համար կենսական՝ դեպի հարավ ազատ ելքին։
