International Rights Advocates (IRA) ամերիկյան իրավապաշտպան խումբը հայտարարել է, որ ուրբաթ դաշնային կոլեկտիվ հայց է ներկայացրել ընդդեմ Nestle, Mars եւ Cargill ընկերությունների մանկական աշխատանքը շահագործելու եւ մարդկանց առուվաճառքում մասնակցության համար: Այդ մասին ուրբաթ Bloomberg գործակալությունը՝ հղում անելով իրավապաշտպանների հայտարարությանը:
Դրանում ընդգծված է, որ ընկերությունը շարունակում է շահույթ ստանալ էժան կակաոյի վաճառքից, որը հավաքել են անչափահաս ստրուկները, հաղորդում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
Հայցը ներկայացվել է Մալիի ութ քաղաքացիների կողմից, որոնք, ինչպես նշվում է, վաճառվել են ստրկության նպատակով մանուկ հասակում եւ ստիպված են եղել հավաքել կակաո Կոտ դ’Իվուարում: Իրավապաշտանները հղում են անում օրենքին, որը թույլ է տալիս տուժածներին դատի տալ ընկերություններին, որոնք արտադրության ընթացքում շահույթ են ստանում մարդկանց առուվաճառքից եւ հարկադրված աշխատանքից:
«Մենք չենք մեկնաբանում հնարավոր դատավարությունները»,-հայտարարել է Mars ընկերության մամուլի քարտուղարը: Այս շաբաթ ավելի վաղ ընկերությունն իր զեկույցում հայտարարել էր մանկական աշխատանքի մոնիթորինգի համակարգն ընդլայնելու մասին:
Nestle-ի ներկայացուցիչը հայտնել է, որ ընկերությունն անցկացնում է մանկական աշխատանքի դեմ հստակ քաղաքականություն եւ աշխատում այդ խնդիրը լուծելու ուղղությամբ:
Հաղորդվում է, որ Cargill ընկերությունը դեռեւս չի մեկնաբանել մանկական աշխատուժի մասին հայտարարությունը:
