Փետրվարի 13-ից ուժի մեջ են մտել ԵԱՏՄ «Կաթի և կաթնամթերքի անվտանգության մասին» տեխնիկական կանոնակարգի փոփոխությունները, որոնք սահմանում են վերականգնված կաթի նկատմամբ պահանջները: Դա վերականգնված կաթի արտադրողներին թույլ կտա այն նույնականացնել, փաթեթավորել և վաճառել որպես վերականգված կաթ:
Կաթի փոշին, որը ստացվում է սովորական կաթի կաթիլները բարձր ջերմաստիճանում ցողելով և չորացնելով, շատ ավելի հեշտ է պահել և տեղափոխել, քան սովորական հեղուկը կամ սառեցված կտորները:Կաթի փոշին պահպանում է ամբողջական կաթի բաղադրության մեջ մտնող գրեթե բոլոր օգտակար միկրոտարրերը և վիտամինները:
Վերականգնված կաթը պատրաստվում է զտված ջրի և չոր կաթի փոշու խառնուրդից: «Կաթի վերականգնում»-ը նախկինում հեղուկ վիճակում գտնվող չոր արտադրանքի գրեթե իր նախնական վիճակին հասցնելու՝ վերականգնելու, գործընթացն է:Մինչ վերոնշյալ փոփոխությունների ուժի մեջ մտնելը,վերականգնված կաթը համարվում էր կաթնային ըմպելիք: Այժմ այն կբնորոշվի և կմակնշվի որպես «Ըմպելի կաթ, վերականգնված կաթ»:
