Գիտնականները ներկայացրել են դեղամիջոց, որը կանխում է շաքարային դիաբետի զարգացումը

Եյլի համալսարանի բժշկական դպրոցի ու Ինդիանայի համալսարանի գիտնականների համատեղ անցկացրած նոր հետազոտությունը ցույց է տվել, որ փորձնական իմունաթերապևտիկ դեղամիջոցը ստանալուց ավելի քան հինգ տարի անց 1-ին տիպի շաքարային դիաբետի զարգացման բարձր ռիսկային խմբում գտնվող մարդկանց կեսը շարունակում է առողջ մնալ՝ ի տարբերություն պլացեբո ստացած կամավորների, որոնց դեպքում առողջ էին 22%-ը։

Ընդ որում՝ տեպլիզումաբ անվանումն ստացած դեղամիջոցն ընդունած ու այնուամենայնիվ հիվանդացած կամավորների մոտ հիվանդությունը զարգացել է դեղամիջոցն ընդունելուց միջինում հինգ տարի անց, մինչդեռ պլացեբո ստացածները

հիվանդացել են 27 ամիս անց։ Հետազոտության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են Science Translational Medicine պարբերականում։

«Կիրառման հավանություն ստանալուց հետո այս դեղամիջոցը կարող է հետաձգել կամ կանխել 1-ին տիպի շաքարային դիաբետի զարգացումը», - նշում է Եյլի համալսարանի իմունաբանության ու ներզատաբանության պրոֆեսոր Քևան Հերոլդը։

Հերոլդի խոսքով՝ Provention կենսատեխնոլոգիական ընկերության մշակած այս դեղամիջոցը կարող է կիրառման հավանություն ստանալ անռանը։ Հետազոտությունների ընթացքում 76 մարդու մոտ նկատվել է դեղամիջոցի ընդունմանն ի պատասխան T-բջիջների առաջացրած վնասվածքների մակարդակի նվազում և տեպլիզումաբ ստացող կամավորների մոտ ինսուլին արտադրող բետա-բջիջների գործառույթների բարելավում։

Հետազոտությանը մասնակցած կամավորների միջին տարիքը 13 էր։ Նրանց բոլորի հարազատների մոտ ախտորոշվել էր 1-ին տիպի շաքարային դիաբետ։
