Ինչպես է Ելցինն ընտրել Պուտինին՝ որպես իր հաջորդի

Ռուսաստանի նախկին նախագահ Բորիս Ելցինը՝ Վլադիմիր Պուտինին ընտրել է որպես իր հաջորդ սեփական, ինչպես ասում են՝ «սուվերեն որոշմամբ»։ Այս մասին հայտարարել է քաղտեխնոլոգ Գլեբ Պավլովկսին, ով Կրեմլի հետ աշխատել է Ելցինի նախագահության երկրորդ ժամկետում։
Lenta.ru-ի հետ զրույցում նա մանրամասնել է, որ իրենք, իհարկե, իրավահաջորդի թեկնածուներ ընտրել են, սակայն դա քիչ նշանակություն է ունեցել Ելցինի համար, քանի որ «բոլոր չափանիշները, որոնցով առաջնորդվել է» Ելցինը եղել են միայն «Ելցինի գլխում»։ Իսկ թեկնածուները այդ ընթացքում եղել են Եվգենի Պրիմակովն ու Բորիս Նեմցովը։
Պավլովսկին հիշում է, որ 1997 թվականին որպես իրավահաջորդ Ելցինի համար դիտարկվել է Բորիս Նեմցովի թեկնածությունը։ Նա վարկանիշով այդ ժամանակ առաջ է անցել կոմունիստների առաջնորդ Գենադի Զյուգանովից։ Սակայն Նեմցովի դեմ մեդիա-պատերազմ են հայտարարել մեդիաօլիգարխներ Վլադիմիր Գուսինսկին եւ Բորիս Բերեզովսկին։ Մեկ տարում նրանց հաջողվել է ոչնչացնել Նեմցովին որպես թեկնածու։ Այնուհետեւ արդեն Ելցինն իրեն իրավահաջորդ է սկսել փնտրել մտավորական ուժայինների շրջանում։ Նախապես ընտրվել է Արտաքին հետախուզական ծառայությունն 90-ականներին ղեկավարած Եվգենի Պրիմակովը։ Սակայն Պրիմակովը արագ հեղինակություն է ձեռք բերում եւ սկսում ինքնուրույնանալ, ինչը դուր չի գալիս Ելցինին։
Արդեն 1999 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 31-ին նա հայտարարում է իր հրաժարականի մասին եւ հայտարարում, որ նախագահի պարտականությունները կատարելու է Վլադիմիր Պուտինը, ով այդ ժամանակ վարչապետի պաշտոնն էր զբաղեցնում, իսկ դրանից առաջ էլ ղեկավարում էր Անվտանգության դաշնային ծառայությունը։ Պավլովսկին նշել է, որ այսպես կոչված հրաժարականի սցենարը իրենն է եղել, որը դեռ 99-ի ամռան վերջին նա զեկուցել է Ելցինին, եւ նեղ շրջանակին, որտեղ եղել է նաեւ Պուտինը։ Ծրագիրն ընդունվել է եւ իրականացվել։
