«Ինձ հաճախ հարցնում են՝ կարելի է արդյո՞ք ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդիրը լուծված համարել: Իհարկե, ո՛չ: Եվ ընդհանրապես, պետք է արդյո՞ք Ղարաբաղը դիտարկել հայկական հարցից անջատ: Չէ՞ որ արդեն վաղուց և ոչ միայն Հայաստանում, երկու մոտեցում կա. ինչ-որ մեկը ղարաբաղյան հակամարտությունը հայկական հարցից անջատ թեմա է համարում, ինչ-որ մեկն էլ ղարաբաղյան հակամարտությունը համարում է դրա տարրերից մեկը։
Սակայն վերջին ամիսներին մեր տարածաշրջանում տեղի ունեցած իրադարձությունները զգալիորեն ամրապնդեցին նրանց փաստարկները, որոնց համար ղարաբաղյան հարցը Հայոց հարցի բաղկացուցիչ մասերից մեկն է: Իհարկե, Հայկական հարցն առավել ընդգրկուն, համապարփակ և բաղադրյալ է: Իսկ այսօր այն առավել ևս արդիականացվում է նոր Օսմանյան կայսրության հայեցակարգի ֆոնին, որի մասին երազում է ներկայիս Թուրքիան: Հարյուր տարում առաջին անգամ Թուրքիան կրկին ոտք է դրել Կովկաս և չի խորշում բացեիբաց ցույց տալ իր նկրտումները, ինչպես անում է Արևելյան միջերկրածովյան տարածաշրջանում: Դուր է գալիս արդյո՞ք այդ ամենը Ռուսաստանին, որն, ավանդաբար, Կովկասը համարում է իր շահերի գոտի:
Իհարկե, ո՛չ: Իսկ մեր փոքրիկ Հայաստանը կրկին հայտնվել է այդ երկու երկրների խաչմերուկում, կամ եթե ցանկանում եք, «կայսրությունների առճակատման խաչմերուկում»: Իսկ հայկական հարցը, որը երբեք մոռացության չի մատնվել, այսօր կրկին նոր իմաստ և արդիականություն է ձեռք բերել: Կարմիր գիծն այժմ հետևյալն է. կդառնանք արդյո՞ք մենք այն Հայաստանը, որի մասին երազում էին մեր նախնիները, թե՞ կվերածվենք թուրքական վիլայեթի: Կլինենք արդյո՞ք քաղաքակիրթ աշխարհի մի մասը, թե՞ կդառնանք նոր Օսմանյան կայսրության մի մասը: Այն ինչ անում է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը Հայաստանի հետ, մեզ թուրքական վիլայեթի վերածելն է:
Հենց այդ պատճառով նրան այդքան ոգևորությամբ պաշտպանում է «նորօսմանյան գաղափարախոսության հայր» Էրդողանը և նրա կովկասյան փոխարքա Ալիևը: Այսօր այդ եռյակը, որոնց անուններն արդեն գրված են մեկ շարքում՝ Էրդողան, Փաշինյան, Ալիև, ցանկանում է Հայաստանի ճակատագիրը որոշել թուրքական մոտեցմամբ: Սակայն մենք ևս այսօր կերտում ենք մեր ճակատագիրը: Մեզանից յուրաքանչյուրը, բոլորս միասին, այսօր մենք պատմություն ենք կերտում: Եվ հենց մեզանից և ոչ թե Նիկոլից, ոչ թե Թուրքիայից կամ մեկ ուրիշից է կախված՝ կապրենք մենք հետագայում Հայաստան պետությունում, թե կանցնենք պատմության գիրկը»:
