Հայաստանում դեռևս իրեն իշխանություն համարող վարչախմբի ապաշնորհությունն արդարացնելու համար մեզանում փորձ է կատարվում արմատավորելու այն կարծիքը, թե Արցախում վերջին պատերազմի ընթացքում Հայաստանը միայնակ էր մնացել միջազգային ասպարեզում։

Մինչդեռ պատերազմի օրերին միջազգային դիվանագիտական ետնաբեմում ընթացող ուշագրավ գործընթացների մասին դեռևս այս տարվա հունվարի կեսերին հետաքրքիր տեղեկություններ է ներկայացրել Հեյդար Ալիևի նախկին օգնական և նախագահի աշխատակազմի ղեկավար Էլդար Նամազովը։

Ըստ նրա՝ Ադրբեջանում չի եղել երկընտրանք՝ ամբողջությամբ, թե՞ մասնակիորեն բռնազավթել Արցախը։ Իրականում երկընտրանքն այլ է եղել, քանի որ ադրբեջանական բանակի առաջխաղացմանը զուգահեռ ավելացել են չափազանց լուրջ ռիսկեր նաև ամեն ինչ կորցնելու առումով, որովհետև ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահ երեք տերությունները՝ Ռուսաստանը, Միացյալ Նահանգները և Ֆրանսիան, Ադրբեջանի դեմ հանդես են եկել միասնական ճակատով։

Դիվանագիտական խողովակներով հնչեցվել են սպառնալիքներ առ այն, որ Ադրբեջանի դեմ կլինեն կոշտ դիրքորոշումներ՝ ճանաչելով Արցախի անկախությունը և գնալով Կոսովոյի ճանապարհով, կամ պահանջ կդրվի, որպեսզի Ադրբեջանը վերադառնա սեպտեմբերի 27-ի դիրքերին; Եղել է նաև միջին կամ փոխզիջումային տարբերակ՝ պահանջել Ադրբեջանից, դուրս գալ նախկին ԼՂԻՄ տարածքներից։

Հենց նման ռիսկերի պայմաններում է, որ Բաքվի բռնապետը ստիպված կանգ է առել Շուշիում և Մոսկվային առաջարկել տեղակայել խաղաղապահներ։
