Մի մոլորություն է շրջանառության մեջ դրվել, թե Արցախի հարցը կարար ավելի վաղ խաղաղ լուծվեր, բայց չլուծեցին։

Ըստ այդ մոտեցման, Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանն ու Սերժ Սարգսյանը կարող էին հարցը լուծել ու պատերազմ չէր լինի, Նիկոլի «գլխին չէր ջարդվի», բայց չուզեցան կամ չարեցին։

Նախ սկսենք նրանից, որ Փաշինյանն ու իշխանության ղեկին եղած ղեկավարները բոլորն էլ գիտակցել են, թե ինչ պատասխանատվություն են ստանձնում, իսկ պատերազմի վտանգը միշտ էլ եղել է։

Այլ բան է, որ մինչև Փաշինյանը պատերազմ կանխելու, էսկակացիան թուլացնելու, մարտական գործողությունները ժամանակին կանգնեցնելունն ուղղված համալիր միջոցառումներ են իրակացվել, ինչը չարվեց վերջին պատերազմում։

Եթե Փաշինյանը կամ նրա կողմնակիցները համարում են, որ նա պոտենցյալ «զոհ» էր, ապա նա կարար պաշտոնավարումը ստանձնելուց 6 ամիս հետո, մեկ տարի հետո հեռանալ ու պետության ղեկը հանձներ նրան, ով կկարողանար ծանր իրավիճակներից արժանապատիվ ելքով դուրս գալ։

Երկրորդ, Ադրբեջանի հետպատերազմյան փուլի պահվածքն արդեն իսկ ցույց է տալիս, որ 5, 6 կամ 7 շրջան հանձնելով պարտիան ավարտվելու երաշխիք չկար։

Բանակցությունների բարդություններից մեկը դա էր։

Այս պատերազմում Ադրբեջանը ստացավ շուրջ 10 շրջան, ավելին քան բանակցվում էր վերջին տասնամյակներում, սակայն չի կանգնում և պահանջում է ավելին, ես կասեի՝ առավելագույնը։

Եթե խնդիրը բանակցություններով այդքան հեշտ լիներ լուծելը, ապա դա կլուծվեր ավելի վաղ և սերունդներին այսպիսի ծանր բեռ չէր փոխանցվի։

Այնպես որ, մոտեցումը, թե նախորդներն ամեն ինչ «ջարդեցին» Փաշինյանի գլխին, մեղմ ասած արժանահավատ չէ։ Ադրբեջանն էլ ամեն ինչ թողած սպասում էր, թե ում գլխին է՞ ջարդվելու։

Ադրբեջանը մասշտաբային գործողության գնալու համար լավագույն պահը ընտրեց, իսկ դա Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի կառավարման շրջանն էր։
