Омбудсмен Армении: Власти Азербайджана должны быть привлечены к ответственности за преступления против человечности

Омбудсмен Армении приветствует заявление правозащитной организации Human Rights Watch о констатации факта пыток в отношении пленных-армян в Азербайджане и считает его крайне важным шагом в вопросе защиты прав человека.
Как отмечается в сообщении омбудсмена, примеру этой правозащитной организации должны последовать другие правозащитные организации, и отклики должны стать основой для применения мер ответственности в отношении властей Азербайджана.
«Власти Азербайджана, вооруженные силы грубо нарушили права армянской стороны на жизнь, здоровье военнослужащих и гражданских лиц, психическую и физическую неприкосновенность, собственность, интересы детей. Отказываясь возвратить пленных, продолжают причинять душевные страдания и т. д.
Все это - совершенные азербайджанскими властями военные преступления и преступления против человечности.
Совершившие преступление власти должны быть привлечены к ответственности. Это является абсолютной необходимостью для предотвращения подобных преступных деяний и обеспечения основ мирного сосуществования в будущем. Безнаказанность порождает новые, еще более жестокие преступления»».
