Կորոնավիրուսի համավարակի պայմաններում մարդիկ սկսել են ավելի հաճախ օգտագործել ախտահանող միջոցներ եւ հակաբակտերիալ գելեր ու սփրեյներ: Եւ սա այնքան էլ լավ չէ, ինչպես կարող է թվալ առաջին հայացքից: Գիտնականները կարծում են, որ այս միտումը երկարաժամկետ հեռանկարում կարող է խնդիրներ առաջացնել մարդու առողջության եւ շրջակա միջավայրի համար:

Հնարավոր թունավորում

Ձեռքերի ախտահանող միջոցները ավելի շատ ալկոհոլ` էթանոլ կամ իզոպրոպանոլ, պարունակում են 60-95% կոնցենտրացիայով: Ոչ ճիշտ օգտագործելու դեպքում դրանք կարող են թունավոր եւ վտանգավոր լինել:

Ավելին, ըստ որոշ հետազոտողների, էթանոլի վրա հիմնված ձեռքերի ախտահանող միջոցների պարբերաբար օգտագործումը հանգեցնում է արյան մեջ այս նյութի համեմատաբար ցածր, բայց չափելի խտությունների:

Հակաբիոտիկակայունություն

Սպիրտային հիմքով ձեռքերի ախտահանող միջոցների պարբերաբար օգտագործումը կարող է նաեւ նպաստել սուպերմանրէների թվի աճին, քանի որ մանրէներն ավելի կայուն են դառնում դեղամիջոցների նկատմամբ: Հետազոտություններն արդեն ցույց են տվել, որ մանրէների որոշ շտամներ արդեն հանդուրժող են դարձել ձեռքերի ախտահանող միջոցների նկատմամբ:

Փոփոխված միկրոբիոմ

Ձեռքերի ախտահանման սպիրտային հիմքով միջոցների չափազանց հաճախ օգտագործումը կարող է վնասել մաշկը եւ ճաքեր առաջացնել, ինչը մաշկն ավելի խոցելի է դարձնում վարակների նկատմամբ: Ախտահանման միջոցները նաեւ ոչնչացնում են մաշկի միկրոբիոմում օգտակար մանրէները, եւ այդ մասին նույնպես չպետք է մոռանալ։
