«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
«Հայրենիքի փրկության շարժման» առաջնորդների միջեւ խորը տարաձայնությունները դեռ շարունակում են տարբեր դրսեւորումներ ունենալ։ «Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի տեղեկությունների համաձայն՝ ՀՀԿ առաջնորդ Սերժ Սարգսյանն իր մտերիմների մոտ հայտարարել է, որ չի ցանկանում որեւէ ձեւով աջակցել ՀՀ երկրորդ նախագահ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանին արտահերթ խորհրդարանական ընտրություններին մասնակցելու հարցում:

Ըստ մեր տեղեկությունների՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հայտնել է նեղ շրջապատում, որ նպատակ ունի ընտրությունների ժամանակ աջակցել «Հայրենիք» կուսակցության առաջնորդ Արթուր Վանեցյանին, եւ ասել է՝ բոյկոտելու ենք ընտրությունները, մենք 4-5 պատգամավորական մանդատ ստանալու համար չենք լեգիտիմացնի կապիտուլյանտին։ Սարգսյանն իր մտերիմ շրջապատում ասել է, որ ՀՀԿ-ն տարբեր հարցումների միջոցով պարզել է՝ ցածր վարկանիշ ունի, իսկ այդ ձեւով ընտրությունների մասնակցելը կխայտառակի իրեն, ինչի համար էլ ճիշտ է համարում Վանեցյանին աջակցելը, քան լինել Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի կողքին:

Ավելին՝ լիդերների վերջին հանդիպման ժամանակ դա բացահայտ Սարգսյանն ասել է Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանին՝ հստակ նշելով, որ նրան չի աջակցելու: Լավատեղյակ աղբյուրներից տեղեկացանք, որ ՀՀԿ-ականների կարկառուն թեւն էլ հայտարարել է, որ եթե Սերժ Սարգսյանն իր դեմքով չգնա ընտրությունների, ապա իրենք կմտնեն այն ցուցակը, որը կղեկավարի Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանը: Կարելի է ասել՝ այս պահին ՀՀԿ-ում երկփեղկվածություն է, եւ Սերժ Սարգսյանի թիմակիցները դժգոհ են նրա կեցվածքից հատկապես այն առումով, որ վերջինս բաց չի ներկայացնում իր քայլերն ու անելիքները թիմի մոտ։

Ինչպես թաքուն հրաժարական տվեց, այնպես էլ գաղտնի է պահում հիմա իր իրական նպատակները հարազատ կուսակցությունից։
