Կյանքի 82-րդ տարում իր մահկանացուն կնքեց Արցախի ազգային-ազատագրական պայքարի նվիրյալ, Արցախի հերոս, «Ոսկե Արծիվ» շքանշանի ասպետ, Հայաստանի Հանրապետության «Մարտական խաչ» առաջին աստիճանի շքանշանակիր Արկադի Իվանի Տեր-Թադեւոսյանը՝ լեգենդար Կոմանդոսը:
Ունենալով ռազմական գործչի բնատուր տաղանդ՝ Կոմանդոսն իր ծանրակշիռ ավանդն ունեցավ Արցախի ազատագրման պայքարում։ Մեծ է նրա կատարած աշխատանքների նշանակությունը ինչպես կամավորականների մարտական պատրաստականության աստիճանի բարձրացման, այնպես էլ մի շարք ռազմական գործողությունների պլանավորման, առանձնապես՝ Շուշիի ազատագրման պլանի մշակման գործում։
