«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է․ «Հայաստանում պետական ուղղահայացը չի աշխատում։ Անտեղյակության եւ անկազմակերպվածության պատճառով ՀՀ իշխանությունները հերթական անգամ նախօրեին հայտնվեցին կոտրած տաշտակի առջեւ: Թերեւս մեկ «քլիք» ավել հավաքելու, «լայքեր» ստանալու կամ PR-ի ձգտումը ծանր հետեւանքներ ունեցավ պետական պաշտոնյայի համար: Բանն այն է, որ ապրիլի 8-ին իշխանամետ լրատվամիջոցներից մեկի կողմից տեղեկություն տարածվեց, որ Ադրբեջանից գերիներ են տեղափոխվելու Հայաստան: Վարչապետի խոսնակ Մանե Գեւորգյանը հաստատեց լուրը՝ հավելելով. «Այսօր նախատեսվում է հայ ռազմագերիների վերադարձ Երեւան»: Ինքնաթիռը, սակայն, Հայաստանում վայրէջք կատարեց դատարկ:
Իրավիճակը երեկ ավելի թեժացրեց ռուս խաղաղապահ զորակազմի հրամանատար, գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Ռուստամ Մուրադովը՝ հայտնելով, որ գերիների վերադարձի հարց պլանավորված չի եղել, ինքնաթիռի վայրէջքը եղել է սովորական աշխատանքային այց: Ահա այստեղ էլ հարց է առաջանում՝ ինչու էր վարչապետի խոսնակը շտապում չճշտված հայտարարություն անել։ Ինչո՞ւ էր շտապում ասել, թե գերիներ են գալու, եթե չէր ճշտել նախապես՝ նրանք ինքնաթիռում են, թե ոչ։ Ի վերջո, ՀՀ վարչապետի խոսնակը պարտավոր է միայն ճշգրտված տեղեկություն հայտնել, այլ ոչ թե խաղալ իրենց որդիներին կորցրած ծնողների հույզերի, զգացմունքների հետ։
Բայց երեկ ավելի զավեշտալի էին պաշտոնական մեկնաբանությունները, որոնք հնչում էին՝ որպես իրավիճակի արդարացում, բացատրություն։ ԱԺ փոխնախագահ Ալեն Սիմոնյանը, մեկնաբանելով իրավիճակը, «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանի եթերում ասել է. «Մենք հույս ենք փայփայել, ամեն օր սպասում ենք, որ ինքնաթիռով մեր գերիները կվերադառնան, բայց պետք է նշեմ՝ որեւէ բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյայի կողմից նման հայտարարություն չի եղել: Այնուամենայնիվ, ես համարում եմ, որ նման ապատեղեկատվության համար պետք է ներողություն խնդրենք մեր համաքաղաքացիներից եւ ծնողներից»։ Նկատենք՝ Ալեն Սիմոնյանի մեկնաբանությունն ամենեւին չի մեղմում իրավիճակը, քանի որ ՀՀ վարչապետի խոսնակն ապատեղեկություն տարածող չպետք է լինի որեւէ պարագայում։ Ցանկացած այլ երկրում այսպիսի խայտառակությունից հետո պետք է հրաժարականներ լինեին, սակայն երեկ ողջ օրը նման տեղեկություն չստացվեց: Երեկ՝ վաղ առավոտից, «Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը փորձում է հենց Մանե Գեւորգյանից նախ հասկանալ՝ իր հայտարարության հիմնավորումն ինչի վրա էր կառուցված, եւ երկրորդ՝ պարզել Գեւորգյանից՝ չի պատրաստվում արդյոք հրաժարական տալ: Նա, սակայն, ուղղակի անհետացել է, իսկ ՊՆ շենքը շարունակում է պաշարված մնալ»։
