«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է․ ««Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի տեղեկություններով՝ իշխանությունների նպատակները՝ հերթական անհնազանդին պատժելու հարցով, ձախողվել են: Ապրիլի 17-ի համարում գրել էինք, որ քաղաքական իշխանությունը հրահանգ էր իջեցրել ուժային կառույցներին «կոմպրոմանտներ» հավաքել նաեւ ԶՈՒ գլխավոր շտաբի նախկին պետ Օնիկ Գասպարյանի վերաբերյալ:
Նպատակ կա «կոմպրոմանտներ» հավաքելով քրեական գործեր հարուցել նրա նկատմամբ եւ նրան ներգրավել որպես մեղադրյալ: Սակայն իրավապահ համակարգի մեր աղբյուրները պնդում են, որ որոնողական աշխատանքները անարդյունք են եղել, եւ Օնիկ Գասպարյանի վերաբերյալ որեւէ բան չեն կարողացել գտնել: Ասել է թե` քրեաիրավական բնույթի ոչինչ չկա նրա գործունեության, անցյալի մեջ: Ու այս պահի դրությամբ չկա որեւէ տարբերակ Օնիկ Գասպարյանի նկատմամբ քրգործ հարուցելու: Այսինքն` կան անհնազանդներ, որոնց անգամ ամենամեծ ցանկության դեպքում հնարավոր չէ տանել ճաղերից այն կողմ, թեեւ իշխանական քարոզչությունից ակնհայտ է, որ մինչեւ հունիսի 20-ը Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի իշխանությունը մտադիր է 2020 պատերազմի հիմնական մեղավոր նշանակել Օ. Գասպարյանին: Իսկ թե այդ քաղաքական նշանակումը իրավական ինչ հետեւանքներ կունենա, դժվար է ասել»:
