Ученые оценили уровень мутаций у людей из Чернобыля

Ученые из США, России, Украины и Японии оценили уровень наследственных мутаций у людей, родители которых подверглись облучению в результате аварии на Чернобыльской атомной электростанции (АЭС) в 1986 году. Как оказалось, повреждения ДНК, вызванные ионизирующим излучением, не передаются по наследству. Результаты исследования были опубикованы в журнале Science.
Группа ученых под руководством Мередит Йигер из Национального институт рака США провела исследование методом полногеномного секвенирования клетки зародышевой линии детей. Для этого изучили геном 130 детей, рожденных в семьях ликвидаторов аварии и персонала АЭС, подвергшегося облучению. Уточняется, что все дети были зачаты и рождены в период после аварии, с 1987 по 2002 год.
Оказалось, что уровень мутаций у испытуемых не превышает средний по популяции, то есть, у этих людей нет избыточных мутаций по зародышевой линии.
Напомним, что авария на Чернобыльской АЭС произошла 26 апреля 1986 года. Она считается одной из крупнейших техногенных катастроф в истории человечества. В результате взрыва в четвертом энергоблоке станции радиоактивному облучению подверглись почти 8,4 миллиона жителей Белоруссии, Украины и России.
