Китай запустил прототип робота, способного вылавливать космический мусор сеткой

Китайский стартап запустил на низкую околоземную орбиту прототип робота, который может собирать мусор, оставленный другими космическими кораблями, с помощью большой сети.

Как сообщает Синьхуа, NEO-01, который также изучать глубокий космос для наблюдения за небольшими небесными телами, был запущен на ракете Long March 6 вместе с несколькими спутниками, передает Reuters.

По заявлению компании, 30-килограммовый робот, разработанный компанией Origin Space из Шэньчжэня, проложит путь для будущих технологий, способных работать на астероидах.

NEO-01 будет использовать сеть для вылавливания космического мусора, а затем сжигать его с помощью своей электрической двигательной установки.

Origin Space планирует запустить десятки космических телескопов и больше космических аппаратов для достижения первой коммерческой добычи астероидов к 2045 году.
