ԱՄՆ նախագահը թույլատրել է ռազմական օգնություն ցուցաբերել Ադրբեջանին
INTERNATIONAL NEWSԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջոզեֆ Բայդենը թույլատրել է ռազմական օգնություն ցուցաբերել Ադրբեջանին։ The Hill պարբերականը հայտնում է, որ այդ մասին նա տեղեկացրել է Կոնգրեսին՝ նշելով, որ վարչակազմը երկարացնում է «Ազատության աջակցության ակտի» 907-րդ ուղղման կասեցումը: Հիշյալ ուղղումն ընդունվել է 1992 թվականին։
Փաստաթղթով սահմանափակվում է ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից Ադրբեջանին պետական մակարդակով ռազմական օգնություն ցուցաբերելը։ Սակայն 2001 թվականին ԱՄՆ-ի վարչակազմերը ժամանակավորապես կասեցրել են ակտի գործողությունը, հիմնականում նպատակ ունենալով ստանալ Ադրբեջանի աջակցությունը՝ որպես տարանցիկ տարածք Աֆղանստան բեռների փոխադրման համար։
ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենը հայտարարել է, թե Ադրբեջանին նման օգնությունը չի խաթարի և չի խանգարի ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության խաղաղ կարգավորման ընթացիկ ջանքերին, ինչպես նաև չի օգտագործվի Հայաստանի դեմ հարձակողական նպատակներով: Ըստ Բլինքենի, օգնությունն անհրաժեշտ է «Ադրբեջանի սահմանների անվտանգության ամրապնդման» համար:
Բայդենի այս որոշմանը բուռն են արձագանքել ԱՄՆ-ի հայ համայնքում՝ ենթարկելով այն քննադատության: Բայդենի քայլը դավաճանություն է որակվել Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման մասին նրա պատմական որոշումից հետո:
