«Արտգործնախարար Արա Այվազյանը Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի հետ տարաձայնություններ է ունեցել իր պաշտոնավարման սկզբից՝ նոյեմբերի 18-ից։ Լավրովի հետ ասուլիսում Թուրքիայի մասին նրա խոսքից հետո վարչապետից կոշտ դիտողություն է ստացել, թե արտաքին քաղաքականությունը որոշում եմ ես, հակաթուրքական հայտարարությունները չկրկնվեն։ Մայիսի 27-ի հրաժարականից առաջ նա ևս 2 անգամ փորձել է հեռանալ։ Հիմնականում պատճառը վարչապետի չմտածված հայտարարություններն են եղել՝ արտաքին քաղաքականության հետ կապված, առանց ԱԳՆ-ի և նախարարի հետ համաձայնեցնելու։
Տարաձայնություններ են ունեցել, երբ վարչապետը որոշել է իր անգլերենի ուսուցչուհուն՝ Լիլիթ Մակունցին, ուղարկել ԱՄՆ դեսպան։ Ապա ինչ-որ բանից վրդովված՝ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը հրահանգել է աշխատանքից ազատել ԱԳՆ գլխավոր քարտուղարի պաշտոնը զբաղեցնող Վահագն Մելիքյանին։ Ամեն անգամ, երբ Այվազյանը դիմում է ներկայացրել, նրան ամեն գնով համոզել են հետ վերցնել դիմումը։ Մի անգամ նույնիսկ Տիգրան Ավինյանն ԱԳՆ է այցելել՝ խնդրել-համոզել, որ այսուհետ ամեն ինչ Ձեզ հետ կհամաձայնեցվի։
Այվազյանը Դուշանբեից Երևան է ժամանել հստակ որոշմամբ՝ հրաժարական տալու, բայց նորից համոզել են, որ դա դավաճանություն կլինի երկրի շահերին։ Վերջին կաթիլը լրացրել է հայելային նահանջի և դիտորդներ տեղակայելու մասին հայտարարությունը։ Այդ հայտարարությունից առաջ Փաշինյանը տեղեկացրել է Այվազյանին, նա ԱԽ նիստից առաջ մտել է մոտը և հորդորել նման հայտարարություն չանել՝ դա չի քննարկվել ԱԳ խողովակներով, շահեկան չէ մեզ համար, մենք նման օրակարգ չենք կարող առաջ քաշել։ Փաշինյանն ասել է՝ ես արդեն որոշել եմ։ ԱԽ նիստից հետո նախարարն իր մամուլի խոսնակին հանձնարարել է Ֆեյսբուքում հրապարակել իր հրաժարականի դիմումը, որ վերջակետ դնի իր վեցամսյա տառապանքներին»,-գրում է թերթը։
