Դեկտեմբերի 17-ի գիշերը հակառակորդի կողմից ձեռնարկված անհաջող դիվերսիոն հետախուզական ներթափանցման փորձերից հետո, որի արդյունքում վերջինս ծանր կորուստներ կրելով հետ էր շպրտվել, ադրբեջանական բանակի հատուկ նշանակության խմբերը` հակամարտ զորքերի շփման գծի հարավային, արեւելյան, հյուսիսարեւելյան եւ հյուսիսային ուղղություններով` դեկտեմբերի 18-ի գիշերը դիմել են հերթական դիվերսիոն գործողությունների:

ԼՂՀ ՊՆ-ից NEWS.am-ին հայտնում են, որ վերոնշյալ բոլոր ուղղություններում հայ դիրքապահները ժամանակին հավաստանշել են հակառակորդի հատուկ ջոկատայինների առաջխաղացումը եւ անցել պաշտպանական մարտերի: Ադրբեջանական գրոհայինները կորուստներ տալով հետ են շպրտվել իրենց ելման դիրքերը:

Ցավոք, ծավալված մերձամարտերի ընթացքում արիաբար մարտիրոսվել են ՊԲ զինծառայողներ Աղասի Արսենի Գրիգորյանը (ծնվ. 1996թ.) եւ Ռուբեն Ռոբերտի Ալեքսանյանը (ծնվ. 1996թ.):

Դեկտեմբերի 17-ին՝ ժամը 21:30-ի սահմաններում, ՊԲ հյուսիսային ուղղությամբ տեղակայաված զորամասերից մեկի պահպանության տեղամասում, դեռեւս չպարզված հանգամանքներում, մահացու վիրավորում է ստացել ՊԲ պայմանագրային զինծառայող, 1992թ. ծնված Գոռ Վահանի Օհանյանը:

Դեպքի մանրամասները պարզելու համար կատարվում է քննություն:

ԼՂՀ պաշտպանության նախարարությունը կիսում է կորստյան ծանր վիշտը եւ իր զորակացությունը հայտնում զոհված զինծառայողների ընտանիքների անդամներին, հարազատներին եւ ծառայակիցներին:
