Հայիթիում ձերբակալված ԱՄՆ քաղաքացի Քրիստիան Էմանուել Սանոնը, որին իրավապահները կասկածում են Հայիթիի նախագահ Ժովենել Մոիզի սպանության գործողությունը համակարգելու համար, իշխանության գալու ծրագրեր ուներ և «անձնական թիկնազոր» էր ձևավորում, որը պետք է վերահսկեր իր անվտանգությունն այս գործողության իրականացման ընթացքում: Այս մասին գրում է The Washington Post-ը՝ փաստաթղթերի, ինչպես նաև այդ պլաններին քաջատեղյակ մարդկանց վկայություններին հղումով:

Հայիթական ծագմամբ ԱՄՆ քաղաքացի Սանոնը գործողությունը նախապատրաստում էր՝ գտնվելով ամերիկյան Ֆլորիդա նահանգում: Այնտեղ նա ակտիվորեն մարդկանց է հավաքագրել՝ հայտարարելով, թե մշակում է Հայիթիի վերակառուցման լայնածավալ ծրագիր, որի արդյունքում, մինչև 83 միլիարդ դոլար ներդրումների միջոցով, հանրապետությունը պետք է դուրս գա աղքատությունից և ձեռք բերի ժամանակակից ենթակառուցվածքներ:

Սանոնը ներկայացել է միաժամանակ որպես բժիշկ և հոգևորական՝  տեղի երկու գործարարների՝ ներդրող Վալտեր Վեյնտեմիլի և անվտանգության ապահովման ծառայություններ մատուցող ընկերության ղեկավար Անտոնիո Ինտրիագոյի հետ հաջող գործարք կնքելու համար: Նրանք պետք է անհրաժեշտ ֆինանսավորում և թիկնազոր տրամադրեին, որը կապահովեր ամերիկացու անվտանգությունը մինչ նրա՝ նախագահի աթոռը զբաղեցնելը: Խոսքն ընդհանուր ավելի քան 860 000 դոլար հատկացնելու մասին է:

Սակայն, ինչպես վստահեցնում են Վեյնտեմիլի ընկերության փաստաբանները, ոչ մի խոսք չի եղել նախագահի սպանության մասին: 

Նրանց խոսքով ՝ Սանոնը միայն «մտադրություն է հայտնել Հայիթիի իշխանությունը խաղաղ ճանապարհով փոխելու մասին՝ Հայիթիի քաղաքացիների կենսապայմանները բարելավելու համար»:

Հիշեցնենք, որ օրերս անհայտ անձինք գրոհել էին Հայիթիի նախագահի նստավայրը, սպանել նրան և վիրավորել տիկնոջը: Հաղորդվել էր, որ առաջին տիկինը նույնպես մահացել է ստացած վնասվածքներից, սակայն ավելի ուշ այդ լուրը հերքվել էր: Երկրում ռազմական դրություն է հայտարարվել:

Ավելի վաղ Կոլումբիայի պաշտպանության նախարարը հայտնել էր, որ Մոիզի սպանության համար կասկածվում են հարավամերիկյան այս երկրի թոշակի անցած զինվորականները։ Հայիթիի իրավապահ մարմինները, իրենց հերթին, հայտնել են, որ պարզել են 28 ենթադրյալ հանցագործների ինքնությունը, որոնցից 26-ը Կոլումբիայի քաղաքացիներ են, երկուսը՝ հայիթական ծագմամբ ամերիկացիներ:
