Իսրայելի կառավարությունը դիտարկում է վերադարձը ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ, որն Իսրայելը լքել էր 2019-ին ԱՄՆ-ի հետ միասին, հաղորդում է Axios-ը՝ վկայակոչելով իսրայելցի պաշտոնյաներին:
Իսրայելի վերադարձը ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ, որը խթանում է ամբողջ աշխարհի մշակութային վայրերի պահպանումը եւ կրթական ծրագրեր է իրականացնում, կարող է օգնել ճանապարհ բացել Ջո Բայդենի վարչակազմի՝ այդ կազմակերպություն վերադառնալու համար եւ հակադարձել հանրապետականների քննադատությանը:
Մի քանի շաբաթ առաջ Արտաքին գործերի նախարար Յաիր Լապիդը խնդրել էր քննարկել այս հարցը: Լապիդի կարծիքն այն էր, որ Իսրայելի կողմից միջազգային ֆորումներից դուրս գալը կողմնակալության պատճառով միայն պակաս արդյունավետ դարձրեց Իսրայելի արտաքին քաղաքականությունը:
Արտաքին գործերի նախարարության միջազգային կազմակերպությունների վարչությունը քննարկում է ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ վերադառնալու հարցը եւ ակնկալվում է, որ շուտով իր առաջարկությունը կներկայացնի Լապիդին, հայտնել են իսրայլեցի պաշտոնյաները: Լապիդի ներկայացուցիչն ասել է, որ Իսրայելի կառավարությունը կհամաձայնեցնի ՅՈւSՆԵՍԿՕ-ի մասով ցանկացած հնարավոր լուծում Բայդենի վարչակազմի հետ:
