Կալիֆորնիա նահանգում 19-ամյա մի հայ տղայի մեղադրանքներ են առաջադրել այս ամիս ավելի վաղ Բերբանկ քաղաքում ապօրինի մրցարշավի համար, որը երեք մարդու կյանք էր խլել։ Կասկածյալների մեքենան մեծ արագությամբ բախվել էր փողոցում շրջադարձ անող մեքենային, որում գտնվող երեք անձինք մահացել էին։
KTLA-ի փոխանցմամբ, կասկածյալը Համլետ Արսենի Աղաջանյանն է, որին Լոս Անջելես քաունթիի դատախազությունը սպանության երեք դրվագով եւ անփույթ վարման մեկ դրվագով մեղադրանք է առաջադրել։ Աղաջանյանը երեկ առաջին անգամ կանգնել է դատարանի առջեւ եւ իրեն մեղավոր չի ճանաչել մեղադրանքներից եւ ոչ մեկում։
Դատախազությունն այժմ մտմտում է մյուս կասկածյալին մեղադրանքներ առաջադրելու վերաբերյալ։ Վերջինս 17 տարեկան է, եւ նրա ինքնությունը չ հաղորդվում։ Երկու անձինք մեղադրվում են օգոստոսի 3-ի գիշերը ապօրինի մրցարշավին մասնակցելու մեջ։ Աղաջանյանը եղել է սպիտակ գույնի Կիա մեքենայով, իսկ 17-ամյա դեռահասը Մերսեդես Բենց էր վարում։ Խաչմերուկում Կիան բախվել էր Ֆոլքսվագեն մակնիշի մեքենային, որը կիսվել եւ բոցավառվել էր։ Մոտ 20 տարեկան երեք ուղեւորները հարվածից դուրս էին թռել մեքենայից եւ մահացել էին։ Բերբանկի ոստիկանության փոխանցմամբ, ողբերգական այդ միջադեպից կարելի կլիներ խուսափել, եթե կասկածյալները մեքենան այդքան անփույթ եւ արագ չվարեին։
Համլետ Աղաջանյանը կալանավորված է, նրա համար 6 միլիոն դոլար գրավ է նշանակվել։ Եթե նա մեղավոր ճանաչվի, կարող է ընդհուպ ցմահ ազատազրկման դատապարտվել։
