Դանիան Հյուսիսային ծովում հսկայական «էներգետիկ կղզի» կկառուցի: Ըստ Bloomberg-ի՝ այն կբարձրացնի երկրում վերականգնվող էներգիայի աղբյուրների հզորությունները եւ կկայունացնի քամու էներգիայի մատակարարումը:
Կղզին կհայտնվի Դանիայից 80 կիլոմետր հեռավորության վրա, շինարարությունը կարժենա 34 միլիարդ դոլար: Երկրի իշխանությունները գործընկերներ կգրավեն, քանի որ այդքան մեծ գումար չունեն: Էներգետիկայի եւ կլիմայի նախարարությունը տենդեր կհայտարարի, որը կորոշի կղզու համասեփականատերերին եւ կառուցող շինարարական ընկերությունը:
Կառավարությունը նախատեսում էր կղզին կառուցել 2021 թվականի փետրվարին: 120 հազար քառակուսի մետր մակերեսով արհեստական հարթակը ղեկավարելու է 200 հողմակայանների ենթակառուցվածքը: Շինարարությունը նախատեսվում է ավարտել մինչեւ 2033 թվականը: Կղզին կկարողանա արտադրել երեք գիգավատ էլեկտրաէներգիա եւ էլեկտրականությամբ ապահովել միլիոնավոր տներ: Նախատեսվում է էլեկտրաէներգիա մատակարարել այն երկրներ, որոնք չունեն սեփական ափամերձ գոտի՝ Գերմանիա, Բելգիա եւ Լյուքսեմբուրգ:
Հողմակայանների միջոցով Դանիան էլեկտրաէներգիայով ապահովել է բնակչության գրեթե կեսը: Մինչեւ 2030 թվականը երկիրը նախատեսում է 1990 թվականի համեմատ ածխաթթու գազի արտանետումները նվազեցնել 70 տոկոսով, իսկ մինչեւ 2050 թվականը՝ դառնալ ածխածնային չեզոք երկիր:
